TV Club - What is next

[DarthGallifrey]

Just looking at the first-doctor tag and we have the following threads (organized by roughly by season):

Pre-Season 1

What are people’s thoughts on stories set before An Unearthly Child? A brief look at the timeline on Tardis Wiki shows the following stories plus several short stories that I won’t list here. Novel: Frayed, Time and Relative Comic: Operation Proteus Audio: The Beginning, The Sleeping Blood, The Alchemists, Quinnis, Hunters of Earth, An Unearthly Woman Is this an era that should be left alone? Or should more stories be set here?

Classic Doctor Who Season 1 - Retrospective

[image] TV Club has reached the end of Hartnell’s first season of Doctor Who and it seemed like a good time to have a thread reflecting on the whole season. How would you rank the stories? What are your thoughts on the way the main characters develop? Which alien race/monster/villain is your favourite? Which story do you want to see a sequel for or makes you want to explore it in the expanded universe? If you haven’t voted in this poll yet, head over and throw your gauntlet into the ring: …

Season 1: Expanded

This is the post for discussing Season 1 and all the stories set within and around this season. How well does this season work? Do all the stories shoehorned in help, hurt or not effect how you view the TV season? Looking at the timeline on Tardis Wiki (Theory:Timeline - First Doctor - Tardis Wiki), I count four short stories, three comics, five audio stories, and a novel. There’s actually a lot more set between Seasons 1 & 2, than within Season 1. What are your thoughts on the expanded media i…

Best Monster/Villain: Season 1

It’s time to pick your favourite monster or villain from the very first series of Doctor Who! (As usual, you get two votes, use them wisely.) poll By the way, please let me know if I’ve made any mistakes or omissions!

Season 2: Expanded

This is the post for discussing Season 2 and all the stories set within and around this season. How well does this season work? Do all the stories shoehorned in help, hurt or not effect how you view the TV season? Looking at the timeline on Tardis Wiki (Theory:Timeline - First Doctor - Tardis Wiki), I count ten short stories, twenty-one comics, eleven audio stories, five novels, and a webcast. There’s actually a lot of stuff set between Seasons 1 & 2 too, but I’m thinking of counting that as a …

Classic Doctor Who Season 3 - Retrospective

[image] Hello everyone! I was wondering what people’s general thoughts on Season 3 of the classic series were? I feel like Season 1 gets a lot of discussion along with Season 2, and of course Season 4 brought on the Second Doctor, but I feel like Season 3 gets kind of ignored? That’s not the best words, but I absolutely adored this season, it felt so fresh and it was continually very enjoyable. It’s probably due to the amount of it is missing, but I just found this season so fun and so good a…

Season 3: Expanded

This is the post for discussing Season 3 and all the stories set within and around this season. How well does this season work? Do all the stories shoehorned in help, hurt or not effect how you view the TV season? Looking at the timeline on Tardis Wiki (Theory:Timeline - First Doctor - Tardis Wiki), I count fifteen short stories, thirty-one audio stories[1], and three novels. There’s fair bit of stuff (mostly audios) set between Seasons 2 & 3 too, but I’m thinking of counting that as a separat…

Favourite Season 4 Story

What’s everyone’s favorite Season 5 story or stories? Remember, you can vote for more than one. poll

Season 4: Expanded

Hopping in to expand the list of expanded discussions (hehe) with another season (one that I think is super underrated!) that’s gotten an intriguing expansion: Season 4! Unlike season 7, it’s not super contradictory storywise but the EU does add a lot to the characterization and story of this season. What do you think of this season? Does the expanded universe add to the season for you as much as it does for me? TV Stories: First Doctor: The Smugglers, The Tenth Planet Second Doctor: The Powe…

First Doctor's Era - Retrospective

This is an another experiment. I’d like to use this thread to discuss the First Doctor’s era as a whole. Discussing stories, companions, arcs (both story arcs and character arcs), favorites, anti-favorites, how the era gels (or doesn’t gel) across the various mediums (TV, books, audio, comics, short stories, etc.). What parts or aspects of this era work, don’t work, could be better. What kind of stories you’d like to see in this era. Just kind of anything First Doctor. It can be as in-depth or a…
