This is the post for discussing Season 3 and all the stories set within and around this season. How well does this season work? Do all the stories shoehorned in help, hurt or not effect how you view the TV season?
Looking at the timeline on Tardis Wiki (Theory:Timeline - First Doctor - Tardis Wiki), I count fifteen short stories, thirty-one audio stories, and three novels. There’s fair bit of stuff (mostly audios) set between Seasons 2 & 3 too, but I’m thinking of counting that as a separate “expanded season”. What are your thoughts on the expanded media in this season?
Note: I’m counting Season 3 as starting with Galaxy 4 and ending with The War Machines and only counting the stuff set in between. Everything set between Seasons 2 and 3 and between Seasons 3 and 4, I count as a separate season.

I am surprised how many Stories are apparently in the Gap between Season 2 and 3, shame since I would always love to gosh over Stories such as Empire of Glass or The Three Doctors, still I think I did a decent chunk (probably more some of which I just probably don’t remember too well to comment on:)
Funnily enough, starting with Daughter of the Gods, which is by far my absolute favorite first Doctor Big Finish play. I am big on DMP, so it’s no Surprise I would really get along with this EA. It’s just superb and in my Mind just one of the greats!
Then there is also of course the entire Gap in the DMP itself. The little drummer Boy (Prose) is a great Example, I rather like this Short trip and I look forward hearing the Narration to it hopefully sooner rather than later! Of course there is also the entire Sara Companion Chronicles Trilogy which I love, Marsh gives us such spooky yet fitting Narration and I just really enjoy the spooky Vibes. On another Note both the Sontarans and An Ordinary Life were surprises. The former was more enjoyable than I would have expected, the latter had an Idea that didn’t impress me but was executed so well I ended up really getting along with it even if there are some more ‘janky’ Moments in there.
While we are at CC Trilogies, the Oliver one is easily another Highlight to me, a shame that Oliver was such a short lived Companion but a lovely new Addition to the first Doctor Canon!
As far as short stories are concerned, I think Roses is excellent and so is Katarina in the Underworld, funnily enough just adding to the Pile of various Stories featuring Katarina which I think are superb and deserving of a 5/5 Rating!
Not many Thoughts on Helmstone or Do you smell Carrots? both are more weaker Entries in this Expansion.
Peace out of time and O Tannenbaum on the other Hands were ones I enjoyed quite a bit, especially the latter. On another Note, I think I rarely hear much positive Word about the CC The Vardan Invasion of Mirth, which I think is an excellent one, dare I say underrated one!
Funnily enough I think this is a first Time when I comment on a Book in one of these as well with Salvation, a PDA which I thought was good outside that one Moment.
I am less keen on the recent 1DA Audios with Dodo, while solo 1 & Dolo Adventures sounds good on Paper they didn’t grip me as much as I would have wished them to be. I do think Fugitive of the Daleks was a very enjoyable love letter to The Chase, but that’s just kinda it. At least speaking of the other two Sets they didn’t quite impressed me or left me with solid Stories and in general I am not a Fan of sidelining Dodo like it seems to be a recent Pattern apparently.
Anyway there are a few other Stories more (and I really thought this one might be a shorter one as well, but apparently not). Not surprising considering just how many Tardis Teams you are getting with this one. Overall, some of the very biggest Highs and some of the very biggest lows of any Season Expansion. Still, its Highs are so high I can forgive its lower ones more easily!
