Tag Highlight: The Many Incarnations of the Doctor

This is another tag highlight. Both to help refresh old topics and to direct new users to potential gold mines of content. This time we’re looking at the Doctors, all of them.

Each incarnation of the Doctor has a tag. (Well, nearly. The Timeless Child doesn’t, and neither does The Curator.) Some Doctors have more topics than others, though that’s often because of the Clubs. So, I’m going give a brief breakdown of each Doctor tag, and make it easier to find by linking them all in this thread.

The first-doctor is first of course with 68 threads, though that’s mostly because of the TV Club. Other threads with the First Doctor tag include quizes, favorite season and companion polls, expanded seasons where we look at all the media that takes place within a TV season, and much more.

The second-doctor only has 15 threads, which is mostly expanded seasons and polls. I expect it to jump up when we hit Troughton in TV Club. The third-doctor only has 13 threads and is in similar postion to Troughton. The fourth-doctor has 23 threads, but again, most of those are expanded seasons and polls, plus a few threads on early DWM issues.

The fifth-doctor has 35 threads, the sixth-doctor has 48 threads, the seventh-doctor has 48 threads, and the eighth-doctor has 33 threads. This is because these are the primary Doctors of the Audio Club and the Seventh Doctor features heavily in Book Club.

Moving into the New Series, we have the war-doctor, who only has 3 threads: The Last Great Time War!, Doctor Who 2024 Year End Review - The War Doctor, and Comic Club: Four Doctors. So, if anyone wants to add some War Doctor love, please feel free.

The ninth-doctor has 35 threads, having been completely covered by Book Club and TV Club, and a start in Comic Club (though it’ll be a bit before we pick up the rest of his Titan run in February and June). The tenth-doctor has 39 threads and is a mix of clubs (TV, Book, and Comic) as well as a scattering of other stuff. The eleventh-doctor only has 14 threads, mostly Comic Club entries. The twelfth-doctor only has 8 threads, again, mostly Comic Club.

The thirteenth-doctor has 9 threads that’s kind of a mix of all sorts of stuff. There’s a poll (Favourite 13th Doctor Companions (Across All Mediums)), a discussion of Flux (The Flux: Ripping Through the Universe) and an EU Recap (Thirteenth Doctor EU Recap) among a scattering of others.

The fourteenth-doctor has 7 threads, and because of the compactness of his era, I don’t him to get much more. The primary thread of note is an expanded season thread on his era, small as it is (Once upon a Time Lord - A 60th Anniversary/14th Doctor thread). The fifteenth-doctor has 31 threads and will continue to grow as his era expands. Each new episode is getting a discussion thread where we discuss the episode as it airs. Each new novel has gotten its own thread; and there are often news, speculation and rumor threads. This is the Doctor where you can see the era blossom in essentially real time. Finally, we have the fugitive-doctor who at the moment only has 2 threads: a designated Fugitive Doctor cross-media thread (You're going to love this - A Fugitive Doctor Thread) and a thread focusing on her only comic miniseries (Story Discussion: Origins) that will eventually be covered again in the Comic Club (in April 2026).

So that’s all the Doctors. Feel free to browse the threads and explore whichever Doctor takes your fancy. If you have a favorite incarnation, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Above all, just have fun exploring.
