What's Made or Not Made Your Day?

It really is. I got it and the other ones during the sale last week, so I’m excited for those in the next couple days!

I first read this as you heard some home truths from your parents on the way home and I thought - poor you!

Day 3 of 12-hour night shifts. Absolutely knackered. Only 4 left.

I miss being able to chat s**t on here 24/7.

Yesterday was my last day of semester too… theoretically. But I have to go there today for a seminar day.

And my exam yesterday didn’t happen because my prof was ill. :sob:

One of my favourite ever games, which I played loads years ago while it was on Early Access, finally got a 1.0 release date :tada: it’s September 10th.

https://www.satisfactorygame.com/

Video games used to be a huge part of my life but even though I have loads in my Steam library that I’ve never played (Humble Choice will do that to you), I haven’t had the motivation to play anything for a long time. I’m going to dive head first into this one!!

Also, another of my favourite games has announced a sequel coming around the same time, Planet Coaster 2!!

It’s a good year for games that I like.

So, looks like a 3d Factorio type game?

Nice. I’ve played some Satisfactory when it first went to Early Access. It’s one of those games that I mean to get back to, but never do.

Glad they’ve got it in a place to ship it.

Yes, like Factorio but in 3D, and it is amazing, OMG. I love it!

Might have to check it out. I do kinda like those type of games. Still waiting on this one to come out:

Of course, I also like Zachtronics games, where programming is part of the gameplay, like Shenzen IO and Exopunk.

(And I play Rimworld occasionally, and watch my colonies fail in various entertaining ways…)

Somehow, I end up beating my head against soulslike games a bunch instead of all this a lot though…

My husband is obsessed with Rimworld, has played it for thousands of hours!

I can totally understand that. The main reason I don’t end up playing it that often is that I figure if I start it up, that’s all I’m going to be doing that day…

(And, admittedly, I’m not the best of it, so my colony does inevitably get wiped out at one point or another.)

We finished the prologue of our DnD campaign today. It’s a little bittersweet, because while it’s exciting to get to the meat of the story, our DM has to take a break to actually write it. On one hand that’s great for me because the way public transport is set up in my city I have to walk for half an hour to reach my DM’s house, which isn’t feasible in the summer heat, so I’m grateful we’ll only start up again once temperatures go down, but on the other hand it means no more regular, pre-arranged meetups with this group of friends who tend to be fairly busy.

Day 4 done. Still knackered. My poor feet and back. :smiling_face_with_tear: :smiling_face_with_tear: :smiling_face_with_tear:

Shower me with laughing emoji to let me know you feel my pain of being an idiot and volunteering to do this load of shifts.

Interesting: It really felt wrong to react with a laughing emoji. But if it’s your wish, so be it.

My ankle is slowly getting better, I’d say it’s 60% better now, still can’t walk normally but not in agony anymore.

Which is a huge relief because anytime I injure myself I worry it will never get better lol

I’ve been having an intense day - driving around town on business, cooking, meeting my wife’s relatives after a long break, driving two hours from our childhood town (where we’ve been spending the weekend) back home to the city (and leaving my wife and our cats behind because she is on vacation and wants to meet up with her old friends while I have to get back to work tomorrow). So I’ll be spending a couple of days at home completely alone! Also, I didn’t sleep very well last night and I’m feeling a bit tired. I’m going to spend this evening in my bed, listening to podcasts and Big Finish before sleep!

Well then it sounds like you need a rest! I recommend these to you: Audio dramas to sleep to? (Calm and relaxing)

It’s amazing to me that people can fail upwards so easy. I’m helping a new store get staffed up and sorted, and I have the manager calling me to come in 2 hours before my shift starts to help sort something out. Bear in mind I have been with the company for a month, and they have been here for 10+ years, and are a couple of rungs above me.

Thankfully, the area manager is listening to my feedback about the new team.
