Bake Off is back.
We watched Bake Off religiously from around Series 3 but haven’t bothered at all for about the last 5 series. Something about it just felt…stale.
I gave up on it when it switched channels. I used to love it, but the wholesale change of line up apart from the one guy who got on my tits was a step too far for me.
I still don’t like Noel Fielding much but he works better with Alison Hammond.
I love the Suchet televised Poirot stories!
Watched “Will & Harper” on Netflix today. I thought it was rather wonderful. Doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of Will Ferrell’s humour or not. This is a genuinely heartfelt film about true friendship and an exploration of what it meant for Harper Stone to transition. Very open. Very honest. I loved it and heartily recommend.
Watched the first episode of Ludwig tonight. Fun stuff with an interesting premise. I’m hoping later episodes lean more into the mystery side of things and away from the drama, but I’m looking forward nonetheless!
Definitely one I intend to watch. I do think there’s too many shows and films with celebrities going on road trips lately, but this one looks a lot of fun.
It is fun, but it’s the other stuff that really makes the ride worthwhile. And it pays to watch the credits at the end.
Finished Ludwig last night. Riveting stuff. We really enjoyed the whole series. Episode five has Derek Jacobi in, and he really shines! Lots of lovely mysteries and puzzles, and quite a lot of silliness. I loved it.
I’m on a re-watch of Mad Men. Me and my parter both love the show.
Oh I LOVE Noel’s humour on Bake Off, but I can see why others wouldn’t.
I thought it was really sad that the guy decided he had to leave, when it must have taken so much to get on.
Also, I find it fun that my hubby and I have such different ideas about who the fit guy is this series. I think its SO clear that there is one stand out attractive/ sexy guy but he doesn’t even register for Lee. Shows there’s someone for everyone.
Bake off is amazing. Started watching since series 6. I like Noel. He’s funny. Allison took a bit to grow on me and so did Matt Lucas. The new season is good so far and I already like all of the bakers. It’ll be sad to watch anyone go.
Watching the new episode of The Masked Singer.
Watched Lair of the White Worm, a tongue in cheek campy horror movie by Ken Russell. It had a young Peter Capaldi in it and, when I watched the feature about the effects, up popped Neil Gorton who I recognised from many a behind the scenes (Who, Torchwood etc).
So have now finished season three of Heartstopper.
It’s the most emotional season so far! Things are handled SO well IMHO. And more aspects are explored than in the books (being vague to keep it spolier free).
There are scenes where Olivia Colman’s absence is a little weird, shame her schedule couldn’t work. I thought Eddie Marsen was perfect in his role.
We’re now up to date with the books. There’s one more book so, hopefully, one more season although it feels like its been written so that, if there isn’t, it doesn’t feel like it suddenly stops. There are some big dangling threads that would be a shame not to conclude, though.
It was fun, not as slick as Nightsleeper but similar tone.
I want to give this a go, some familiar faces from Doctor Who in the cast & created by Toby Whithouse. Giving me Wicker Man vibes.
Smart, capable and by the book Grace Narayan was flying high as an inner-city police sergeant before being forced into a ‘punishment posting’ on the small, antiquated island of St. Jory. Confronted by the forgotten and unsolved case of missing teenage boy Cai, Grace quickly discovers that she must overcome scarce evidence, extraordinary local characters, and the island’s strange cult history to uncover the truth.
2 episodes in on The Red King, enjoying it.
