Doctor Who - Season 2 (2025)

Yes, but the difference is that this was filmed before season 1.

True, but we’ve already seen they’ve done late in the day reshoots. It’s not wholly out of realms of possibility that the plan changed post-production and they’ve had to find a way to accommodate this. If Ncuti wants out, there’ll have been a way to buy out of any contract or whatever and it’s possible he wouldn’t even want to come back for a special (especially if it’s all as up in the air as we believe it to be).

I was trying to make this positive and not to go down the realms of Ncuti Gatwa Rumoured to be Leaving? but it seems to be what everyone believes!

I can’t wait to see him in Season Three :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds fun!

Even that article ends in doom and gloom though

If that isn’t enough to fuel this rumour, Doctor Who producer Joel Collins wore two very interesting and unique T-shirts to the Gallifrey One convention in February of this year. The first one featured Mr Ring-a-Ding, a cartoon character voiced by Alan Cumming recently announced to be in Season Two. His second T-shirt the following day was black with the words ā€œ803rd Interstā˜…llar Song Contestā€ in white.

Can’t wait for that episode :star_struck:

I wonder if it is an adaptation of Audio Club: Bang-Bang-a-Boom!

I doubt it will be an adaption, maybe just something inspired or even something that just reminds you of that Story?

After all it’s Who, it’s not like a similar Story can’t be done again by somebody not knowing there is something out there just like it.
I reckon at best it will be as much of an ā€œadaptionā€ as Devils Chord was for fanfare of the common men, which isn’t much besides a few Things and Beats.

Anyway, very excited about this one, it better be good, RTD :rage:!!/j

Yep. Not to add doom & gloom but I think this has all been badly handled by the BBC PR machine.

Hope so.
Can’t wait for Gatwa’s Doctor to be uncomfortable because of the advances of Queen Anglia

Another thing that I hope this season does is have 15 be darker in character.as for the all gatwa leaving stuff,it would be sad on another part cause this would mean 2026 would be a gap year with no Doctor Who and as a fan since 2014,this especially hurt in 2016 and 2019.

So this is the one written by Juno Dawson then, which is the most expensive episode ever…

This is literally what I asked further up thread

True, but RTD has a habit of adapting stories from other media into TV (Dalek, Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel, Human Nature/Family of Blood, Blink, The Star Beast…).

As a huge Eurovision fan, I hope it’s a great one either way!

I knew I’d heard it somewhere, didn’t know it was you haha sorry.

I’m stoked for it! I wonder what made it so expensive?

Reuniting ABBA ain’t cheap.

I’m guessing:

  • Smoke machines
  • Glitter
  • Some contemporary British presenting/hosting celebrity? (My money is on David Tennant :roll_eyes:)
  • Computer generated crowd of 10.000 aliens and humans
  • Music rights to play ABBA on screen
  • Sequin dresses
  • Model space station
  • Strobe lights
  • Too many costume changes for Gatwa

Wait, is it the most expensive episode ever or most expensive normal (non special) episode?

Because the T-Rex from Joy to the World can’t have been cheap.

Maybe they have a huge CGI alien audience.
