Wait. Why Jojo’s? (I haven’t read the manga)
- Start off in the UK before exploring plenty of other strange places
- The travel is often part of the story
- Different parts with ‘different’ protagonists who share a lot of commonality but also enough differences (including a single female protagonist)
- Each protag has a different supporting cast that evolves as the story goes on
- Been around since the 80s
- Immortal villain with a personal vendetta against the protagonist
- Ridiculous outfits
Unless… the Doctor feels a bit of “shiny tech envy” and also doesn’t want to blow Rose’s mind that Star Trek is real… so he fibs.
I mean, we all know… the Doctor lies!
Actually, shiny tech envy as an explanation kind of works because the Doctor finally cheekily hints about Star Trek being real in “Space Babies” when the TARDIS is looking swisher and more sophisticated than ever before!
And how come there is a TV series in the past about real events in the future? Well, Star Trek also has established time travel so… someone came back and seeded the idea (accidentally or deliberately) with Roddenberry. I mean, wibbly wobbly timey wimey!
Goes a long way to explain a certain TV show that was just about to air during 1963 in “Remembrance of the Daleks” as well.
So are doves. I’ve long been campaigning that doves should be replaced as the symbol of peace and love by either:
- Gibbons; or
- Shingleback skinks (they’re rather sweet)
It’s more like our Legends Of Tomorrow.
Legends is so clearly Dr Who inspired though
I think for Doctor Who to be Britain’s [insert show here], the other show has to be something that’s separate enough from Doctor Who
It’s not a TV crossover, but by God, we need Doctor Who in Fortnite. Properly this time, with Fifteen and Ruby outfits in the Battle Pass, and at minimum Thirteen and Fourteen outfits in the store.
I used to play Fortnite and was really excited the first time there was a crossover event with Doctor Who but there were no skins! So weird.
I guess they don’t want the Doctor to use a gun?
I don’t play it anymore but I’d come back to play as the Doctor!
I don’t get the appeal of Fortnite personally. I’d prefer to see Doctor Who added to Disney Speedstorm.
That’s the first I’d heard of Disney Speedstorm. Basically a “free to play” Mario Kart clone?
That could work, except what would the Doctor drive - the TARDIS?
He could win every race by materialising at the end instantly!
He’d materialize at the end, say, 12 months after the race ended, probably during some kind of invasion or something.
And Tegan is just trying to get back to the Daytona International Speedway.
Ooh, I didn’t think of that. You might be right. I just assumed Epic didn’t want to put any effort in.
This is for a show that is no longer being produced but I love the idea of a Mentalist and Doctor Who crossover. Patrick Jane and the Doctor seem like they would have good chemistry with each other. It is a slightly darker show but it could work.
