What would you consider to be your favourite ''bad'' story

It doesn’t have to be necessarily bad, thus the quote marks, but what is a story you love that isn’t as widely love as it in your opinion should be? For example in my opinion Time Flight is incredibly fun and has some of the funniest scenes from 80’s who.

I want to spread a bit of positivity, so what is yours? :hugs:

I’ve been defending The Legend of Ruby Sunday recently but tbf I do think Empire of Death is a letdown so boring answer.

Almost any season 22 story would be a valid answer for me (not you, Timelash), but people mostly like Vengeance on Varos so outside of these two… and I disagree they are bad (not you, Timelash) so there is that.

The Caretaker, I guess.

And on audios 100% the second Klein triology.

Yay a fellow Time-Flight enjoyer!!

Other episodes I will defend include The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe, The Invisible Enemy, Fear Her, The Space Museum. I’m sure there are others.

Ohh I love The Caretaker, crazy how only Moffat wrote it, no one else, it’s so so funny

Cyberwoman (I’m so predictable). I’m also a defender of Fear Her, Paradise Towers, Timelash, and so on, though to varying degrees.

So stories that are so bad they’re good? /hj

Space Babies is a guilty pleasure for me.

Timelash is so fun! I love the whole Colin TV run, as he was my first classic Dr Who. Fun stuff.

Not necessarily, just a story you like that has some bad rep.

So underrated/overhated stories?

Being a 13 fan, I have a lot of these. :joy:

I find Once, Upon Time to be a good, experimental episode.

The Underwater Menace! The ultimate 60s camp! It’s stupid; it has Zaroff; it makes very little sense, but it’s so much fun!

I have a terrible sense of what’s popular or not, but found out recently that The Space Museum is seen as a bad episode. It’s one of my favourites!

Do people don’t like that one?

I’ve spent time defending a lot of stories plenty of people don’t like, so quite a few. Not going to manage to list all of them.

I mean, I liked The Web Planet… and Delta and the Bannermen.

I seem to have actually liked the Dominators a fair amount better then other people, mostly for fun Jamie/Doctor stuff, and some of the Dominators back and forth. Liked The Space Museum.

I definitely don’t understand people’s dislike for the Tsuranga Conundrum, unless they are having trouble spelling it, and while there were a lot of problems with it, I think there was a lot to like in Orphan 55.

Timelash did have some fun bits.

Is it even controversial to like Paradise Towers at this point?

Count me in for this too. I wish it existed in full. Episode 4 would be fascinating to see. Troughton is amazing in this one too.

That is always true. He is great!

Oh, also, while I know a bunch of people dislike it, there was a lot of good stuff in Genesis of the Daleks.

Well, I’ve always had the impression that it’s not very well-liked, and often ranked among Troughton’s worst. They are wrong, of course. It’s much better than The Space Pirates, for instance (any fans of that one here?), even the non-animated version.

Isn’t genesis usually very beloved? I know it’s one of my fav Dalek stories

You should’ve seen how early it was eliminated in the Dalek episode elimination games…
