I’d say it’s generally considered a masterpiece, but it’s surprisingly disliked here on the forum.
Fair. It’s just nice to see more be discovered. Telesnaps don’t do him justice. I love him hanging around in the background of some Zaroff scenes, just biding his time, working out schemes, etc. And his facial expressions! He’s such a characterful actor, and his performance is lost in telesnaps. UWM made me appreciate him even more than I already did!
Quoted for absolute truth.
Well sometimes people get rather opinionated in these forums, but I’d say the general consensus is that it’s incredible, which is absolutely deserved, Holmes really did something with that script he got delivered
I don’t know if Destiny of the Daleks is considered a ‘bad’ story by other people but I at least haven’t seen it praised. It’s one of my absolute favorites though. I watch it when I feel bad and it’s just very comforting to me. I love to see Romana somehow having a terrible and a great time simultaneously. I just adore its kind of tonal dissonance
Journey to The Centre of the TARDIS is my favourite episode ever and I was surprised to see it as being rated so low. Same with The Crimson Horror (I’m from Yorkshire lol) and 7B generally.
But Journey To The Centre of the TARDIS is absolutely a beautiful story imo and you all should rate it 5/5
Hmm. Ones I think (I didn’t go to the effort of actually checking the guide) are relatively unpopular ones that I think aren’t so bad to various degrees. The Keys of Marinus, The Smugglers, Underwater Menace, The Wheel in Space, The Space Pirates (significantly), Colony in Space, Planet of the Daleks, Invasion of the Dinosaurs (significantly), Monster of Peladon, Image of the Fendahl, Nightmare of Eden, The Leisure Hive, Warriors of the Deep, Timelash, Delta and the Bannermen, Aliens of London/World War Three, Love & Monsters (significantly), 42, Victory of the Daleks, The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood, Asylum of the Daleks, Robot of Sherwood (give me the beheading cut), The Woman Who Lived, The Return of Doctor Mysterio, The Tsuranga Conundrum, Kerblam!, Ascension of the Cybermen/The Timeless Children, The Halloween Apocalypse, Once, Upon Time, Dot and Bubble.
Yes!
Invasion is so slept on. It’s brilliant. That cliffhanger that turns the whole story on its head and into something much more is brilliant. Dodgy dinosaur models aside, it’s a wonderful latter-day Pertwee story.
I honestly liked the Web Planet! It was intriguing. I loved the dedication the guest cast gave to their roles. Like I genuinely liked it!! Would I want to watch it again? Not for a while. But it was charming, and very ambitious
Is Invasion of the Dinosaurs actually unpopular??? I thought (hoped?) people knew how good it was. It’s by far my favourite 3rd Doctor story.
Also – people don’t like Nightmare of Eden and The Leisure Hive? But Romana…
As I said. I didn’t check. But I think historically they’re at least less appreciated.
Asylum of the Daleks, Timeless Children, Hell Bent, Journey to the Center of the TARDIS, Hide and Fear Her
I think Hell Bent is more split than generally considered bad.
I’ve always loved Victory of the Daleks (New Paradigm Daleks my beloved), and, while not considered “bad”, I don’t think Under the Lake/Before the Flood ever gets the love it deserves.
Also, The Caretaker, written by Steven Moffatt and Hatsune Miku, is an absolute delight. I actually have a glow-in-the-dark Skovox Blitzer sticker from DWA on my door to this day, and a 3-D printed Skovox takes pride of place on my smaller figures shelf.
I feel like I always love the stories no one else does lol
The Gunslingers - Fun Wild West Story with a silly song and a DARK ending.
The Underwater Menace - This story feels like it’s a different genre each episode, and the cliffhanger of Polly on the operating table about to be cut open always gives me the shivers.
Love and Monsters - Fun look at Dr Who fandom during the wilderness years, cool metaphor for toxic fans.
Orphan 55 - Feels like a Classic Who story to me, base under siege with some cool twists and some REALLY cool sequences, esp with the Dregs exhaling carbon dioxide.
Space Babies - I love that the Doctor is introduced as a hero who saves babies from the Boogeyman. It gets who the Doctor is, especially at this point in the story.
I suppose I’ll have to stand up for The Space Pirates because I’m one of the few people on the forum (possibly the only one) who recalls watching it at the time.
All I can say is that, back in the 1960s I loved the Space Corps stuff, which six year-old me might have described as being like Star Trek, except that, as we all know, Star Trek had yet to be broadcast on British television. In fact, in real life the Space Race was still in full swing and we were still a couple of months away from Man landing on the Moon. So this adventure was great for any space-mad kids like myself who were watching. I’m sure that if The Space Pirates turned up tomorrow, it would look horribly dated to modern eyes, so I think this is one of those cases of ‘you really had to be there.’
This is tagged as a poll, but I don’t see one.
Wait, The Gunfighters is hated?

And yeah, I’m Mr Opinionated about Genesis of the Daleks. I can see everything that makes is ‘good’ but it just doesn’t stir my juices. It’s just so bloody grey.
