also if you are unaware of how new / current big finish works - they do pre-order prices for stuff that is coming out soon and it usually runs a few months after the release!
Living Legend and Best Laid Plans are the only ones on the list I listened to. I adore Living Legend, but you should listen to a few Eight and Charley audios before listening to it. You can listen to them on Spotify with a free account, but there will be ads. I listened to them on Apple Music. Theyāre probably available on other streaming platforms, too. Keep in mind that Living Legend is the shortest of the bunch, only 20 minutes, while the Short Trips tend to be around 40.
Best-Laid Plans is a really solid story, I enjoyed it a lot. I think the concept is really interesting and the narrator does a pretty good Twelve.
Groupthink time. This is whatās next for me on the site. What should I go for before I listen to Mindbomb at the weekend.
- Torchwood: Zone 10
- The Star Men
- Short Trips: All Hands on Deck
- Trial of the Valeyard
- The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: All of Time and Space
- The Companion Chronicles: The First Wave
- Doom Coalition: Ship in a Bottle
- The Lost Stories: Nightmare Country
There are other good ones in there, but the fact that you havenāt finished the Eleventh Doctor Chronicles yet needs immediate rectification.
The answer is always Eleven
Torchwood Torchwood Torchwood Torchwood
But yes Torchwood is good, although Zone 10 didnāt do much for me, but I am currently going through the main range in order.
Ship in a Bottle is a very good episode too, one of my favourites from 8 + Liv & Helen.
You do relise that putting 11DC on that list means that itās inevitably going to win?
Every. Single. Time.
Yeah I did think that. Thing is Iāve realised I just sort of want a one off so I may exclude it from the results.
Staging a vote and then ignoring the results! Thatās not democracy! /j
Okay plans adjusted because we all know what I should listen to. So, Iām going to get Mindbomb out of the way ahead of the weekend and then just plunge into the 11 box set.
Happy now?
Even though I have a huge backlog and I always want to listen to new things, I am so tempted to have a re-listen of 11 & Valarie. Itās so good
This is my problem. I want to do all the 11 ones but I also want to relisten to more of Audio Club than Iāve managed!
Transitās book club thread got bumped up recently so I took some time to re-read everything. Now Iām curious what actually happened in that book.
I can read English faster than a lot of my classmates but not even close to a native speaker, so I much prefer audio. I found a fan-read version on YouTube which seems great but then @MrColdStream said thereās a fan-made full-cast audio drama??? Now I donāt know which to go for first. (I plan to listen to both, though. Just help me decide which first)
- 80min audio drama
- 8.5hrs audio book
Maybe Iām just impatient and I want to try and complete all the stories before I die but Iād choose 80min over 8 hours any day
I also voted for the audio drama. I have no idea how good it is or how good a representtion of the book it is, but from the little snippet I listened to, it sounded fine. The channel has audio dramas for other VNAs as well (and the preludes, apparently).
I am about 50% into the audiobook but have given up.
What should I watch?
- Marco Polo (30 minute DVD edit)
- The Last Sontaran (Sarah Jane Adventures)
- Rewatch something
Sarah Jane!!
What should I listen to next?
- Human Resources
- Whispers of Terror
