One of my closest friends was an Andrew, his favourite Doctor was Troughton

Fun Fact: Last week’s Audio Club release, Doctor Who and the Pirates, features a line where Evelyn talks about Lloyd Webber, a famous musical composer.

His first name?

Andrew.

Just watched Church on Ruby Road. It is such a good introduction to 15. The cemetery between 15 and Ruby is instantly perfect and makes this story!

I am excited to rewatch season 1 (or what you want to call it). I think that it might be a good thing to watch it not carrying that much about the overarching mystery and just go with the flow.

But who is ms Flood?!?!

Turns out the spacing is wrong on her name, and it’s Ms. FL Ood, as she’s an Ood from Florida. Why she doesn’t look like an Ood is another story entirely…

This is why I find it so frustrating. It does start well and there’s a genuinely fascinating idea at its core, but it all goes to pot. With a little work, it could have been great, but it just doesn’t hang together for me and is a long way short of the stories either side of it.

Wonderful! The Eleventh Doctor’s first season continues to impress, even after several rewatches. This story is a joy. It’s one of those surreal episodes that treads new ground whilst delighting with classic tropes. There’s such a stark contrast between the Upper Leadworth setting and the TARDIS/Cold Star setting. That juxtaposition keeps the episode feeling constantly fresh and surprising.

Love the Eknodines. Such a deliciously weird concept. Love the Cold Star. It’s a strong idea. The fact that it doesn’t make sense by our understanding of the universe is absolutely the point, and doesn’t the frost-rimed TARDIS look beautiful? Love the twist that both realities were dreams. Oh, and above all, I simply adore Toby Jones’ Dream Lord. A perfect foil for the Doctor. I’d be very happy to see the Dream Lord return. Such immense storytelling potential!

Half-way through Inferno. After a trip shopping I will be finishing it off and then on to Terror of the Autons. Thinking a lazy, Third Doctor, day.

What black magic is this? Is this site really some sort of secret gathering of Andrews? Is this entire site a lie? Are we being brainwashed? Is Shauny actually an Andrew in disguise? Am I also an Andrew now?

What’s with all the Andrews?

This mystey is an-drewing me crazy!!!

Are all these Andrews future or past incarnations of the Andrew that married Leela? Are we all aiding and abetting in breaking the first law of time here???

Don’t forget about “My Dinner with Andrew” from The Diary of River Song Volume 3.

On an entirely separate note, I watched Deadly Assassin Part 1 during lunch. This is where everything we know of Gallifrey really stemmed from: the Chancellory Guard, the Castalan, the Panopticon, the chapter houses, the BioData extracts, the crispy Master. Just the sound effects are making me nostalgic for the Gallifrey audios.
