I am not sure how much it adds, but I do remember that the book does add some stuff. So far it’s my favourite version. It was quite the introduction to the fourth Doctor and Romana.
Haven’t listened to the audio book yet, but I’ve been planning to do that for a while now, as well as getting the English version of the book.
The webcast didn’t really leave a lasting impression on me. I am not even sure I ever finished it. Maybe I should do that some time.
The six part version is easily my favourite, it’s even my favourite Tom Baker story!
That’s a lot of Shada to go through to find out the Paul McGann Flash animation version is the best one
Now you’ll also be ready for Dark Gallifrey: Morbius.
Today I finished Day of the Daleks, The Curse of Peladon, and The Sea Devils.
I had fun watching all of them.
Two episodes into The Brain of Morbius.
Always a joy to revisit this one!
Philip Madoc is quite simply amazing in every single scene.
Love the Sisterhood!
Sacred Fire, Sacred Flame
Season 13 is actually really, really good
Finally, a season 13 opinion that I can agree with.
Watched the final animated episode of The Celestial Toymaker yesterday and it really is a wonderful thing. Bearing in mind this is the episode that exists they have managed to both honour to the original footage and make it their own thing to fit with the rest of the animation.
Easily the best animation I’ve watched so far (although I have practically all the Troughton ones still to watch).
While it is rather good, my favourite animations is still The Macra Terror.
Watched the two last episodes of The Brain of Morbius.
And rolling straight into The Seeds of Doom.
The Hinchcliffe era is just fantastic
Watching Series 12 for the first time. Really enjoying it but I also feel that Sarah is treated a bit worse this season (at least so far). She spends a lot of Ark in Space screaming and has just ended up on her arse teleporting down to earth.
I finished The Mutants today, and watched a third of The Time Monster.
My favorite stories of that season!
I have yet to fully watch both of those. In years past I think I watched maybe 1 or 2 of each but gave up. They’re on my list to finish this year! What did you think of them?
I liked the Mutants, the setting was pretty interesting and I had a lot of fun watching it.
I will have to come back to you later for the Time Monster as like I said, I haven’t finished it yet, but at the point I am right now it’s shaping up to be a pretty good serial.
Just watched Day of the Daleks - liked it a whole lot more than I expected to. Generally a nice, solid story.
I finished the Time Monster. I liked this one very much. It was a lot of fun!!
I hated it the last time I watched it but I know I’ll watch it again - but the acting in this one is borderline as bad as K9…
Just watched “The Halloween Apocalypse”. Got even better since the last time I watched.
Two remarks:
- This time around the doctor reminded me of the seventh in his later years.
- That’s the way to destroy the universe! In comparison, the Suthek version we just got is, in its depiction, just lame. Thinking about it, there is a place for a “the universe just withers away” version of the “destroying the whole universe” theme. What we got in the finale of Series Disney 1 was just not quite there. In contrast, the flux was a brilliant depiction of a “loud and exciting” version of the same theme.
