It wasn’t a cold sore - it was a dog bite. He had been attacked by someone’s dog not long before filming. I think he’d been teasing the dog.

If I recall, I think it was the director or one of the production staff who had the dog, and the owner did a trick where they’d hold a hot dog in their mouth and the dog would take it from them. Well, Tom decided to try it and ended up getting bit.

This is interesting because if you can accept that scene, you’ll probably end up liking Six. That scene is frequently pointed out as one of the reasons why Six was such an unpopular Doctor - abrasive, violent, and so unlikeable that his post-regeneration trauma saw him almost strangle the life out of his companion.

DOCTOR: When do I not see you?
For me this makes it pretty explicit that the song was for her. The season also spends a lot of time exploring their relationship(they are the hybrid after all), so it makes sense to build it up here.

There is also Last Christmas with the whole “There was only one other man, but he’s impossible” line. Series 8 is a bit more ambiguous with their relationship; Series 9 fulling embraces it.

Finished The Dominators and I kind of like it. It is a nice setting and an okay premise of what if evil comes to a place of peace. I really like this TARDIS team as well. I think that it is a solid 3.5/5 story.

But our eldest is having his 13th birthday today - I might have had quite a bit of cake, cocoa and coffee since all three of our boys had short days today
