Are there any Classic Who serials that are only two parts (not including s22)?
The Rescue from Season 2! It’s a favourite of mine, it’s very breezy
Thanks! I’ve actually never heard of that one (or if I have, it went in one ear and out the other).
They start happening in Davison’s era, there’s Black Orchid, The King’s Demons, and The Awakening.
I’ll never miss a chance to recommend Black Orchid, it’s good fun.
Edge of Destruction from S1. I quite enjoyed it, it was a fun and quick romp
I liked Black Orchid also, but I haven’t seen the others you suggested! Thanks to you and @Meara.
Depending on how it’s edited, there’s Resurrection of the Daleks right
Yes. The proper broadcast version of Resurrection of the Daleks is like the S22 2-parters.
But for ordinary 2-parters:
The Edge of Destruction
The Rescue
The Sontaran Experiment
Black Orchid
The King’s Demons
The Awakening
(The Ultimate Foe)
We dont have many 5 parters
Just three:
The Dominators
The Mind Robber
The Dæmons
That’s the second rarest part number right? Behind 8,10 and 12 joint top
Finished my rewatch of Wheel in Space. It is okay but very slow. I also feel that the Cybermen are not used in a good way. Zoe is good, and this is a good introduction to her.
Now two whole Troughton stories in a row that have all episodes!!!
My eldest watched Time Heist which I dipped in and out of (whilst sorting out why our hot water wasn’t working). Jonathan Bailey pre-Bridgerton/Wicked is the weirdest thing.
Well technically 1-part would be second. Mission to the Unknown and The Five Doctors
Ignoring episode length:
14, 12, 10, 8 - 1 each
1 - 2 stories (3 if including the TV Movie, but I’m defining classic Who as Unearthly-Survival)
5 - 3 stories
7 - 6 stories
3 - 8 stories
2 - 13 stories (including Foe)
6 - 33 stories (including Shada)
4 - 91 stories (including Mysterious, Mindwarp, and Vervoids)
No 9 parters to plug that gap
What’re the other 7 parters? You’ve got Silurians, Ambassadors of Death, Evil of the Daleks and Inferno
The Daleks and Marco Polo
The Rescue is where Vicki gets introduced, so if you ever wondered where she came from before, that’ll give you your answer…
It’s a good little story.
