Nope still not really a fan of “The Angels Take Manhattan”, it just doesn’t work for me. Definitely the weakest of the five 7A stories for me.

The plot is very thin and it is just a 45 minute farewell tour for Amy and Rory.
Still don’t care for Matt Smith’s acting when Amy says goodbye, and how should the Doctor be able to tell young Amelia the stuff in the Melody Melone afterword without causing a paradox that would break the universe?

I enjoy the “adventure of the week” feel of 7A with only this last one being, for me, a bit subpar.
Definitely the weakest outing for the Weeping Angels.

Certainly their weakest outing. But when all three of the others are so great, that will happen.

Yes I have another episode on now

“The Snowmen”.
Kind of wish we could have had Victorian Clara as a full-time companion.
Love that title sequence.

People say that, but I’m perfectly happy with the Clara we had. I don’t think I’d have changed it.

Honestly, even the massive Clara stan that I am agrees with you because it would’ve been an amazing dynamic to explore in new who! I really need them to have a companion from the past like come on!!

I like the “Clara we had” just fine, she’s a really good companion. I just think this variant brought something different to the table I would have liked to have explored further.

That’s true. I don’t necessarily disagree with that. I’m just the world’s biggest Clara Oswald fan.

Clara is perfect just the way she is TYVM :triumph:, but seriously I could see the merit in using Victorian Clara instead. Having a character who can look at things in awe that we take for granted in the modern era is something that NuWho is missing imo. Though I think I would rather that with a completely new character, as there are some traits of Modern Clara that I quite like, such as her being a school teacher (It just fits so perfectly).

The real crime is that we didn’t get more Paternoster Gang on TV :rage:

Actually I think them being essentially an 11 era thing, and being there for a bit of familiar for the hand-off to 12 was just the right amount to use them.

Not having a go at Clara. Promise

Watching “The Bells of St. John” at the moment. Halfway through, and enjoying it much more this time around, even if it does require a bit of suspension of disbelief when it comes to computers and wi-fi :slightly_smiling_face:

Bells of Saint John I think is just a textbook “this episode is fine” episode. Isn’t really much I dislike about it, not much I really rave about either. It’s just fine.

Just finished The Chase and

  1. That was a good story
  2. That was an excellent exit for Ian and Barbara
  3. I LOVE Steven
  4. William Hartnell at his best is a really impressive actor.

I agree on three out of four counts there :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll never have enough suspension of disbelief for that one…

I’m in the Victorian Clara as a companion camp, especially since it almost happened. Giving us yet another modern earth companion when they almost could have done something different.

It’s not like having a companion not from modern day earth can’t work, either. I mean, we had Jamie, Zoe, Leela, Romana…

I don’t care for it. The Daleks were almost always so good, so threatening, so intimidating in their 60s portrayals, except for this one. I really don’t like how it’s essentially just 6 episodes of making the Daleks the butt of the joke, and as a comedic story I think it just fails, I don’t find it funny. The direction is pretty shoddy in many places. The Mechonoids are cool, I like Steven, and I like Ian and Barbara’s departure. The rest I could do without.

Tooth and Claw was fun, but very strange.

This was the first time I’ve seen the episode in years, and it did have it’s ‘amusing’ moments, but it is rather faulty.

Very recently “finished” watching through New Who with a couple friends of mine who hadn’t seen it before.

And I say “finished” because we got one episode into the Chibnall era and all collectively gave up.

World Enough and Time was fun though.

Seems a rather extreme reaction after only a single episode.
