After watching Survivors of the Flux (with my brother, who had no clue what was going on), I realised I have only two episodes left until I’ve 100%d the Revival! (Yes, I never finished Sleep No More, but still marked as watched and rated it, so it’s fine). And then I can start Classic from the Beginning!
Only the Vanquishers left of the Flux
Is Eve of the Daleks then the other?
Why did you never get through Sleep No More?
Correct, the Legend of the Sea Devils publicity machine came just when I started getting into Doctor Who, so had to watch it. Also Power of the Doctor got me so excited, so I watched it live and loved it, one of my favourite episodes ever!
It was just so boring, it could have been done so much better (not as bad as another story though, which I despise and now exactly how to fix it as well), and I just wanted to get on to the Raven triptych lol
Oh I also love “Power of the Doctor”. It hits my Doctor Who sweet spot perfectly
Sleep No More is veeeery slow, but I honestly think it gets better on repeats.
Don’t leave that one hanging Which story?
I should probably get back to it someday, because I really wanted to enjoy it, I just was not in the mood for it at the time.
There’s a number in the title…
Hmm… Couple of choices there…
- World War Three?
- 42?
- The End of Time - Part One?
- The End of Time - Part Two?
- The Power of Three?
- Spyfall - Part One?
- Spyfall - Part Two?
- 73 Yards?
How happy you’d be if it turns out to be this story!
I’m rewatching Shada today, the 2017 version that combines live action with animation.
I love a good Douglas Adams script and find it a pity that this was never completed, because it would’ve been a certified classic;
I love shada, it’s just so delightful! I’m currently experiencing my third version of the story, the novelisation read by Lalla Ward (I’ve watched the live action/animation one as well as the webcast before) and it’s probably my favourite version yet
It’s not even in that list
It’s a Thirteenth Doctor episode…
I should have consulted a list
Orphan 55, right?
I was actually about to suggest Orphan 55, because it was missing from the list and it’s not the best of episodes
Enjoying The Ambassadors of Death in this great big timeline of everything this morning. Season 7 is such a standout. I understand why Pertwee didn’t stay earthbound for long but goodness gracious do we get 4 absolute classics out of this season because of it.
It’s an excellent season as far as I’m concerned.

Yes, it’s Orphan 55.
Used to be a defender of that one. Then I rewatched it…
It is the only episode of Doctor Who I hate. I can not stand it, which is an even bigger shame considering how much I love series 12.
I’m half-way through The Daemons. It’s a solid enough story, but I am getting a bit tired of The Master being in every story. I still like the character, just a bit tiresome.
Finished The Daemons. 4.5/5. Interesting serial, but with my earlier caveat still relevant.
Now onto Day of the Daleks.
Watched Episode 2 of The Deadly Assassin during lunch. I wouldn’t want to completely erase the original, but I find myself really wanting a version with Geoffrey Beevers giving the Master’s lines. Nothing against Pratt, he’s fine, but I’m so much more familiar with Beevers in role thanks to Big Finish.
This was exactly how I felt when I watched all of Classic Who in order.
The Master really outstays his welcome in the Third Doctor era. They might as well have renamed the show “Doctor Who and the Master too”.
Honestly I think the Master is best used as a surprise appearance, not as a recurring villain.
