Dug up an old Doctor Who Magazine to check a Tom Baker interview. Decided to read the issue’s Blog of Doom as I remebered the range wasnt too bad. It was the Dortmun one.
I rescind what I said the other day defending the range.
Utterly dreadful. It completely misunderstands Dortmun’s chracter and makes him seem very malicious and incompetent.

Decided to read a few more Blogs of Doom - theres a badge for them afterall.
Light - this ones better. Better but bad. Its just a very bland acount of Light from Ghost Light’s time on Earth. Theres one decent passage with Azal. But thats it. 2/5
Dr Black - I prefered this one. The first two parts are pretty good with a comedic enough discussion of the art from The City Of Death. The next two are pretty weak. The last two are fine. Its overall a fine enough bit of text, but nothing to seek out. 3/5
Solon - Again its fine. Its pretty mediocre and it does do something I remember liking about this range - it pokes fun at the plot holes of the story. But aside from that its very one-note. It portrays Solon as nothing more a sycophantic idiot. Which given he’s shown to be quite smart feels like poor characterisation. 2.5/5

I have been getting back into reading lately. I read the first New Series Quick Read after I finished Frankenstein and K9 Megabytes. It was an okay story featuring Ten, Rose, and a Dalek. That was the last non-comic story with Rose I needed.
My next read, which I have already started, is Fear Death by Water.

Does the author even know Madam Vastra and Jenny are married?
12 referred Jenny as Vastra’s “maid” but he knows they are married! I’d understand if he was talking to someone else but no he was talking to Clara and they were alone.

Camera Obscura update! Finished it: my god what a book. The various dream-like sequences were all so good (and I also enjoyed the times we took a break from the main plot to check in on Anji and Fitz, who were practically having a comedy special of their own)

One of the things I don’t like about Vastra and Jenny is how Vastra treats Jenny. A lot of the time she continues to treat her like her maid rather than her wife and it’s something which bugged me quite a bit when I rewatched a few of the Paternoster stories. So, to be fair to Justin Richards, he’s probably only picking up on the tone of the TV relationship.

I’ve been slowly working through The Shakespeare Notebooks. It’s been fine, nothing remarkable but fun as someone into theatre.

I think that @deltaandthebannermen friend has done some fan-made ones. It is mostly VNA but i think that there is one or two PDA.

A lot of the missing scripts on the Writers’ Room (or BBC Writers, or whatever they’re calling it now) are down to the fact that the scriptwriter had unfortunately deleted or otherwise lost their copy of the script, which is especially true of earlier series. Now I’m sure they could find and scan some of the actors’ copies of these scripts, but these wouldn’t be them as written and would have slight differences. Ultimately I would be happy with any version!

I’m about 1/3 way through the scarlet empress. I haven’t really got into it yet (mostly due to reading it in bits and pieces), but this town that the characters are in now is so bizarre and funny. They have a day 100% dedicated to being violent to each other??? And iris got drugged and is gonna be killed??? This is great
