Listened to my 50th Torchwood main range story with a friend today with Suckers, so brilliant but so bleak
I’ll see how motivated I am to finish Bernice Summerfield: Epoch tomorrow but if I’m not, I’ll go straight onto The Cosmos and Mrs Clarke
Okay, I give up. 2 days is long enough to go without Liv and Helen. Back to the 8DAs!
Finished Deathworld. Is it wrong to say the best thing about it is the cover…
I really didn’t like this either…
Starting The Axis of Insanity!
Starting Gallifrey 5.2: Evolution for my monthly shopping trip.
Correct assessment. & the cover ain’t great either!
Just listened to The Story Demon. Proper thoughts in the boxset’s topic but it was one of those stories that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and happy that Doctor Who exists. I love this silly show!!
Finished Evolution and moved straight into Arbitration.
Listened to parts 3 and 4 of Criss-Cross - a pretty standard companion introduction/pseudo-historical story, with enough going on to be engaging but probably not enough to make a lasting impression. The best parts all involved Constance herself, which bodes well for her as a companion - I particularly liked her exchange with Dr Schwartzman in part 4, where she tries to discover if he knows anything about her husband’s whereabouts. Miranda Raison is great as always - she was reliably the best voice actress in the Dragon Age series of video games, and she continues that streak here.
Next up, The Story Demon!
I really enjoyed Criss-Cross - a rattling good plot, really evocative settings - both Bletchley and the submarine, and Constance is brilliant. It’s also a great episode for Colin.
One day I’ll get around to Benny, i own the first New Adventures set
Just starting the Holy Terror. I’m feeling a bit down and felt like a change of pace from the 8DAs. Haven’t listen to a 6 story in ages!
Two TARDIS Guiders feeling low are listening to The Holy Terror at the same time. What are the odds
@TomGarrison54’s comment gave me the idea!
I’m listening to The Holy Terror…
I’m currently on Part 3. Jesus Christ…
Finished The Holy Terror…
Beautifully twisted story.
10/10
Listened to the Whotalk commentary for The Three Doctors episode 1 with Terrance Dicks and Bob Baker on the way to work this morning. Dicks really loves telling the same stories.
Wow. Listening to The Holy Terror was certainly an experience. It started off so bizarre and funny and then the ending…
Also, I love Frobisher!!!
Been going through a big Main Range marathon, just did Nekromanteia before pausing to listen to the latest Sixth Doctor set.
Nekromanteia gets worse with every listen and is one of those stories I label as “what people think the Virgin Books were like but are ultimately darker and edgier than any of the VNAs”.
The Cosmos and Mrs. Clarke opens with two fairly good stories but I’m struggling with the last one honestly, it feels a bit odd and disjointed in places
