My non-spoiler review is that they are easy listens and enjoyable. Solid middle-of-the-road stuff, for me.

Clyde was born in (checks tardis.wiki) 1994 so he would have been 8 at the time!

I love the idea of the BF audios and the SJAs co-existing. Sarah Jane adopted a kid and her whole genre changed!

I can just imagine 8-year-old Clyde popping up in a Sarah Jane Smith audio and saying with his squeaky high-pitched voice:

13 Bannermen Road is where Sarah Jane Smith lives!

(I heard Daniel Anthony in Wirrn Dawn and didn’t expect him to be there, I audibly gasped! Clyde no, get out of there it’s not safe!)

He’s in the Play that Goes Wrong at the moment in the Dennis role.

I went and saw that! He was good, although he unfortunately had to be replaced midway through due to an injury. Nevertheless, it was a great show.

I wouldn’t even know if that would be a scripted element or not! I saw it with a previous cast, though, and I don’t remember Dennis being replaced.

I started Phantasmagoria yesterday and couldn’t make it past the first part. Thought maybe I was too distracted so I tried again today, and once again failed. Five and Turlough are my least favourite Doctor and Companion, respectively, so that’s probably dragging down the story for me. I just can’t get into it, but I don’t want to skip any of the Main Range right now.

Instead, I listened to Short Trips: The World Tree, which I enjoyed a lot more.

I listened to the World Tree yesterday.

It’s quite good, isn’t it?

The Jigsaw War started out great. A nifty theatrical piece where the two characters are switching places, and Jamie’s trying to put things into a sequence. That was really cool.

I found the ending really, really abrupt, though. I mean, I went back to the case and checked if there was a second disc level of abrupt. Mental double-take!

It’s a case where I think the setup outshines the resolution, but still a good ride.

Listened to the new BBC Audio House of Plastic, which was a fun little story.

Also listened to the two first parts of the new 1DA, The Living Darkness and I don’t know what to think of it yet.

I absolutely love The World Tree, first audio that made me cry! Totally lost it when the main character talked about not wanting to lose her husband again :sob:. Also really liked Lisa Bowerman’s narration, her 11 impression has quite fun.

Currently listening to Night of the Stormcrow.

The World Tree is so good. Was my first ‘short trip’. Crazy that a fan got to write the 15th Doctors first appearance.

I honestly don’t see it as the 15th doctor, as fun as that would would be. There’s nothing in the actual story to suggest it’s 15 specifically, just that it might be a future incarnation. I think the only piece of evidence is that the writer said that it’s 15, and I don’t really consider what writers say outside of their stories as cannon(looking at you RTD).

I’m onto …ish now. In the first 20 minutes I have loved the philosophical talk about language evolution. It’s something that I am low-key interested in.

Mindbomb is so bloody good!

I have to admit, I didn’t really connect with the story. It was good, and I understand why people might get emotional from it, but it wasn’t really for me. The only other Short Trip I listened to is Best Laid Plans, which I liked better. Opinions :person_shrugging:

Totally understand! I’ve also listened to Best Laid Plans and liked that one as well(I think I gave it 3.5 stars). I’d recommend checking out the rest of the Paul Spragg memorial stories if you have the time, they’re not all great(The Hoxteth Time Capsule and the one with 9 are my least favorite), but they’re all free! Besides The World Tree, my favorites were Landbound and Forever Fallen.

Continuing my slow way through Future Phantoms, I finished The Sitter earlier and adored it. A perfect ghost/haunting story. The War Master playing a sweet, innocent man and than dropping the act is such a trope at this point but Jacobi is so good and the scripts normally are too so I can’t complain.
I realised I started this boxset back in November and have listened to one story each month so far. Been so busy, but I think I may actually finish the next story in a couple of days.
