Finished Vol. 6 with “Gallifrey” yesterday
Been catching up on podcasts most of the day today.
I’m probably going to listen to Gallifrey tomorrow because I want to hear how it concludes!
gonna catch up on some torchwood monthlys soon !! mainly ianto, queen victoria and bilis ones!
Bit of Sapphire and Steel after finishing Appropriation. Spooky lighthouse time.
Finished Energy and better than I remembered. It has an almost classic 60s feel to it. And Tom sounds so young! Much more like his TV self then he does in recent recordings.
Continuing the Hex arc with No Man’s Land. Hex don’t get tortured challenge impossible.
Just started listening to an audiobook with my class about the Vikings and got a lovely surprise to find out it’s narrated by Sophie Aldred.
She’s just got in a time machine with a raven to travel back to Viking times!
Have fun with @Tian’s ancestors! Let’s hope they look a bit more like Tian and less like the '70s adult film stars from The Time Meddler
She’s already mentioned Denmark, Sweden and…Norway.
Listened to some more of Sapphire and Steel: The Lighthouse this morrning on the walk to work and it’s taken a decidely dark turn. I actually found myself tensing up during one particular scene.
•The World Tree: A nice, simple story. Plus it has 15 in it, so that helps me with one of my goals for this year, to complete every 15th Doctor story.
•Cataclysm: Yeah, I have no clue what happened there.
I have now started The Assassination Games @sircarolyn
Listening to Muse of Fire, its quite good so far, nice to have a more lighthearted story in the Hex arc. While I’ve done a few Iris stories before this is my first one with Panda and I allready love him.
I finished New Benny 6 with Gallifrey and I’m so happy I’ve been listening to Gallifrey (the audio series) because this felt like an episode from that range. And the way Narvin acts here would have made me hate him if I hadn’t known his usual tactics from Gallifrey, so I’m all good. This was such a great set!
Also finished Davros - wow, what an audio! I don’t think I’ve ever come across Davros as well-written and performed as here, kudos to Terry Molloy! And Bernard Horsfall and Wendy Padbury are amazing as well and give Colin a run for his money!
Finished Sapphire and Steel: The Lighthouse and that was far darker than I was expecting. It was also a little strange in that Sapphire and Steel are more or less just observers for the majority of the story, sucked into the tragic events. Really uncomfortable and really, really good. Probably my favourite of the S&S audios so far.
Started listening to God’s Secretaries by Adam Nicolson all about the making of the King James Bible. Right now it’s talking about James taking the English throne after the death of Elizabeth I.
Finished Tropical Beach Sounds which I loved. Palin does a really great job.
The Curse of Time.
Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid and authentic Fourth Doctor story that celebrates him and his first season on their 50th anniversary. I found it quite atmospheric too.
Over the past week I have listened to all of the Sarah Jane Smith audio series.
I rather enjoyed Series 1. Not the greatest thing in the world, but it was an enjoyable, easy listen. Very “Situation of the Week”, with a minor through line.
The Second Series was a bit more refined and serialised, but still very enjoyable. It’s a shame that It ends of a cliffhanger. Dreamland had a bit too much “Dramitic Raised Voices” for me, but it was an interesting end to the overall series.
Overall, a wroth while listen.

These are definitely on my list. I was a bit disappointed with Comeback but I think it was because my headspace was more in The Sarah Jane Adventures and I was like “Where’s Clyde?”.
But yeah one day I’ll get around to these! I do love Sarah Jane Smith.
