I’ve done it!
Finished the Sirens of Time, which means I’ve completed my first audio drama!
The question is, what I should get to listen to next?

If you’ve got access to the Main Range, just keep going on that for a while. Then you can join us in the Audio Club.
The main question is, did you enjoy it?
Well…
Yes and no.
The experience of listening to an audio drama, and the three Doctors? Yes.
The story itself? Not really, no.
The world of Doctor Who from Big Finish is so grand and expansive, that it’s hard to pick a starting point. For Five/Six/Seven/Eight, I’d definitely say keep going with the Main Range. For 1-3 and War-12, that’s a little trickier.
Fair, and I would probably agree. Sirens is very much an average story - you get some that are much better and much worse. As I say, a good way to do it is just in release order, or by following an individual Doctor. The exact order in the Main Range doesn’t matter too too much, they’re not that connected (unless they are).
Yeah, Main Range is best in Release order if you’re interested in it in the long run. Plus, doing it in release order means you get decent variety and don’t get bogged down with any one Doctor for too long.
Listened to the Extended Extras for Coda. They were fun, the biggest takeaway for me was at the end, when the 70th anniversary was brought up, David Richardson stated that he’d be, I think, three years into retirement, so planning the 70th would fall to someone else.
Next up, Gallifrey 2.2
Have to go to Soho tonight so I’m starting the new Torchwood Soho box set on the way.
Trying to get some club work done early this week. Started Doctor Who and the Pirates. I am mostly identifying myself with the student who question everything.
Oh I love that one!
I have been waiting to finally get to Doctor Who and the Pirates. I have heard so many great things, and I like musicals, so I am very excited to finally lisen to it this week!
Whispers of Terror: Episodes 3 and 4
Just finished my long awaited relisten of Colin’s first full audio story with Big Finish. My thoughts duly logged in Audio Club:
Finished Bloodtide 4/5 rating, and moving on to Project: Twilight. Glad to be back with proper Doctor Who after my trip through BBV and Magic Bullet.
Listened to the first story from War Master Future Phantoms last night and sadly found it very slow and a bit boring. Hoping to gel more with the rest of the set as a huge War Master fan.
Going to carry on with The Monster of Peladon audiobook (Culshaw’s Rex Robinson is so good) but intersperse the chapters with some other things because there’s so much I want to listen to!
Honestly that quiz round put me off Peladon for life…
Listened to The Time Museum, a rather lovely tribute to Ian that hits harder now than it would have when originally released.
Sad to say that The Foxglove Cylinders from the same set has the same issues for me.
Bummer because the performances are great but that alone isn’t enough to undo how slow it is. Though the ending was neat, at least.
Praying the next two stories work better for me.
