Thanks for your comments @JayPea. Much appreciated! Yes, sounds like Norton Folgate is going to be a character I enjoy returning for some time to come!

Finished The End - brilliant story and so many lines that just made me laugh out loud. Jacob Dudman is utterly brilliant. He’s not just impersonating Matt Smith, he embodies his entire performance and acts his socks off. Eleven is my favourite modern series Doctor and so it would take a lot to impress me and he did that and more. Safiyya Ingar is superb as Valarie and I cannot wait to listen to the next box set (especially as it ends on a cliffhanger).

And it was lovely to have Jo (Zygon) Castleton back in Doctor Who. She was such a stalwart of the Wilderness Years.

Oh and to all the people who said these releases were the greatest - you were not wrong!

I’m finally listening to deathworld. Almost half way through and my favourite thing so far is 1 and The Brigadier, they make a really fun duo

Yes I’m jumping all over the place at the moment, tracking over a dozen different sets, but last night I started the Class audios (fresh off my rewatch of the TV series) with Gifted. I didn’t really enjoy it, a rare time that one of Roy Gill’s stories has left me unmoved.

Tonight… GALLIFREY 1.2: Square One awaits.

it’s been a while, but the moment has been prepared for. Really looking forward to this. Weapon of Choice was so much fun last weekend, but the journey is only just beginning (again) and I’m so up for this!

I finally finished the BBC Audio Originals with The Lagoon Monsters: a fun, aquatic adventure worth an 8/10.

I also finished Season 1 of The Lost Stories with The Macros: slow and slightly disappointing, but with a stronger second part, worth a weak 6/10.

I’m going to take a break from extra BF audios for a while. I’ll only focus on new releases and the Audio Club stories. I’ll catch up on some audiobooks instead.

Halfway through The Maltese Penguin for Audio Club Extra.

Then I’ve got The Missing Episodes Podcast episode on The Myth Makers lined up, followed by The Cabinet of Light audiobook for my marathon and the Peladon box set.

The Pyralis Effect has a nifty premise - a ship searching for The Doctor who had once saved their civilization, looking to ask for his help once again - but it doesn’t do anything interesting with that premise, and the story proper is just okay.

Relistened to Only the Monstrous for the first time in forever. Perfectly fine story overall, not much to comment on other than saying that wow, John Hurt is bloody brilliant, huh!?

Finished Dominant Species today and enjoyed it. It managed to make the Dominators a credible threat. Not sure what to listen to next.

Now this is what I’m talking about… Ringpullword is just so much fun. The conceit of Turlough bickering with his novelizer as said novelizer narrates his life in real time makes (IMO) for a wonderfully entertaining ride. Love this one!

To the office tomorrow, and after a dozen straight Companion Chronicles, something different.

Still slogging my way through The Maltese Penguin. I usually listen to audios while washing up but I put music on instead last night as I couldn’t be bothered with this one. My TARDIS Guide rating is definitely getting dropped lower.

Just listened to the Class audio Tell Me You Love Me.

Honestly it was pretty much the whole reason I re-watched Class (and to get the badge of course), because I saw @JayPea rave about this in Underrated Stories ages ago and made a note to get to it - a gay audio story with two of my favourite characters called that, with really high ratings!

It did not disappoint! Such a good creature idea, great character drama, boys kissing and a really satisfying ending, what more could you ask for :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Kinda bummed now that none of the others will reach these heights for me. Going to take a break from Class now though because Gallifrey calls!

Listening to the second War Master season “Master of Callous”.
Currently on the final story. I don’t quite get what people see in the War Master series so far. It’s nice that this season is connected, that’s an improvement on the first one.

The first two stories were rather middling (though Narvin ), the third “The Persistence of Dreams” was just boooooring - I don’t think the stories give me any reason to care about Martine King.

And I don’t feel like the War Master has any personality apart from “Generic Master Template” - it’s not really giving anything for Derek Jacobi to work with. He is my least favourite audio Master at this point sadly…

I am not sure if I will go on with the third season :upside_down_face::slightly_smiling_face:

Been seeing posts from people working their way through the Lost Stories range. Fought the urge to cry “Wait for me, I’m getting there!”

Got there this morning. It’s been too long since I read the novelization to compare, but I think The Nightmare Fair works well on audio.

Maybe it’s because I think Colin shines on audio, maybe it’s because there’s a character named Kevin (always a plus, amirite?), but whatever. Enjoyed this one.

Yeah, The Nightmare Fair is a decent one. A bit slow perhaps, but decent.

By the way, you’d love The Resurrection Casket novel. There’s another Kevin in it

Might have to re-read that then. My biggest Who loving friend is named Trevor. In the novelization of Planet of Fire, Peri is planning to go somewhere with a couple of guys…called Kevin and Trevor. Got a big chuckle out of that.

Relistened to Sins of the Flesh and god it’s sooo good! I love how sensitively and maturely done this all was. Amazing performances all round, love that the subtext was just the text, and some incredible lines of dialogue along with being just a fantastic story all round.

Broken Hearts is still my favourite story in this series, but this is a close second for sure.
