TV Time - (but not Doctor Who)

I think I found Merlin was noticeably pitched at a bit of a lower age group than me. Robin Hood was bloody awful.

Oh no, I loved Robin Hood. I even bought the BF audiobooks (when they got reduced to about a tenner for the entire set…).

I saw it and loved Fringe

I don’t remember that part  To be fair, I haven’t watched or thought about Atlantis in a long time, so it’s very likely I’m viewing it with rose-coloured spectacles - I remember enjoying it as a teenager, but I’m far from the definitive authority on it

Brilliant - Primeval is basically Fringe if you replace the parallel universe with time portals :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

This is better

Maid Marion was one of those kids shows that adults loved to watch too.* I remember where I worked lots of us had it taping on the ol’ video-recorder to watch when we got home.

*See also Do Not Adjust Your Set, although I was actually a kid when that one was broadcast.

I don’t know about Fringe (which I adored, btw). The show I always compared Primeval to was Torchwood - and, for me personally, Primeval came out on top in that battle.

A bit harsh. I remember enjoying it a lot. It was implausible and a strange mishmash of Greek mythology, but quite a lot of fund at times, and it had an excellent cast.

It had plenty of flaws, but I still enjoyed it.

I just remember it feeling like a poor relation of Merlin and Robin Hood.

And look, I try not to be harsh about Doctor Who so I have to vent my anger somewhere. It’s usually at a class of 29 kids but it’s half term so I have to vent somewhere…

I remember loving Robin Hood as well when they showed it on Finnish TV back in the day. I then found it difficult to accept Richard Armitage as Thorin in the Hobbit movies because I only associated him with Guy of Gisborne from the show.

Richard Armitage was great in Spooks.

I got 100+ chapters in, but dropped the manga because it never quite clicked for me… but the netflix show did instantly, can’t wait for season 2

God yeah, Atlantis was just so so meh

Merlin was great though!

I’m sorry that the manga never clicked, but I respect you reading up to that point at least! And very glad the show did! It’s such a surprisingly good adaptation; can’t wait for season 2 <3

That’s a show I’ve been meaning to watch for a while but I haven’t had the time to delve into it yet.

Highly recommended - I keep meaning to do a rewatch.

I enjoyed this when I watched it a while ago. It’s stylish and well made even though it wasn’t what I expected when I went in.

It probably wasn’t even what I wanted from it when I decided to start it but I really did quite enjoy the ride.
