Watching the 3 Body Problem, I honestly love it so far.
Ive seen deep-dives into the books before and I do want to actually own them and read them one day.
And I’ll have a shelf, and I’ll display them on my shelf.
Also Naoko Mori being credited as having an acting role? Mark Gatiss making a short and surprising appearance. Can’t wait to watch more (only on episode 4)
I completes the series, and am so hyped for whenever the next one comes out. 3 Body Problem has the ability to transfix me away from Doctor Who for a bit, and that’s saying something.
Sharing the intro trailer because I love how this alien race - The Trisolarans - are never seen, and yet this intro encouraged us to empathise with their circumstances, and jealousy/ envy of Earth, while their planet orbits those 3 stars… Especially with how it’s almost intruding on two lovers in an embrace.
Favourite character had to be Tatiana
If season 2 upholds the same quality as season 1, it’s gonna be a banger. Honestly, the theming reminded me of Children of Earth, and I’ve long missed feeling that same existential dread and hopelessness. So fun.
I was really underwhelmed by the last season. The Salma Hayek one was pretty good and the Red Mirror one was too but I can’t even remember the ones in between!
@shauny I watched Death in Paradise a lot when I was younger (shoutout to WETA UK; I love American public television that broadcasts British shows), and the vast majority of episodes are a game of “what Doctor Who episode has that actor been in.”
Death in Paradise is awesome (and the twist in the first episode is a good one). It’s not the most intricate of shows but it’s something we get excited for every time it returns. The latest detective, Donna’s ex-husband, has brought a new vibe to it but all of the various detectives have been fun. The spin-offs are pretty good too.
I really like Mervin and now his first series has finished I’d stick my neck out and say he’s my favourite of the 5 detectives the main show has had so far.
Favourite of them all including spin offs is Mackenzie from Return to Paradise.
The mystery arc for Mervin was a good one and I also liked Selwyn’s story this time (more than I did his estranged daughter one). JP’s return at the beginning, though, made me realise how much I miss him. I think he’s my favourite sergeant - and Naomi is possibly my favourite DS. I think possibly Humphrey is my favourite DI but that’s partly because I adore him in Beyond Paradise.
Finally got around to it and watched the first 2 episode of the new Daredevil season. It was really bloody good, somehow avoided spoilers on Foggy’s death and really didn’t expect it. Matt pushing Bullseye off the building also really shocked me
I finished the season finale of House MD last night, borrowed the season 2 DVD from the library, and I just finished the first episode of that season! I suppose I’ve been fixating on shows with doctor protagonists recently.
Rewatched an old Buffy and an old Jonathan Creek last night. It was the first Creek where I didn’t completely remember the solution (although I had an inkling). The Buffy reminded my of how ‘Dawson’s Creek with Vampires’ it was early on and how each episode seems to have a new teen character who gets involved in the adventure but ultimately doesn’t join the gang.
