I think Boba Fett is the weakest series myself but I’ve been entertained by all the Star Wars series to be honest. I find that at worst (Boba Fett) it’s still watchable.
Andor is easily my favourite of them though. Such strong vision and storytelling.
Varada Sethu plays a sort of mercenary who is introduced in episode 5 if I am not totally mistaken. Really different from Mundy Flynn in BOOM!
The Book of Boba Fett was enjoyable for what it was. More Ming-Na Wen is always a good thing . Really weird how one of it’s 7 episodes is just an episode of The Mandalorian (and a rather important one before watching season 3 of that show. )Especially as Boba Fett needed an episode or two to complete it’s story in a way that wasn’t so rushed.
We finished the new series of Colin From Accounts last night. I’m slightly disappointed with it. The first series was brilliant and quirky, but this one has hinged more on awkward moments with people being dicks to one another. I know there’s no drama without conflict, but there are ways to create conflict without relying on characters just being nasty. There were huge chunks of some episodes with no laughs at all, just toe curling experiences. There was still some of the quirkiness that set series 1 apart from everything else and one or two real laugh out loud moments, but across a series of eight episodes that’s not a great deal. The climax of the final episode was so unimaginative as to not be worthy of this pair of creators. I’ll try setting it aside and rewatching when I’m in a better place mental health wise, but I really loved the first series, whereas this one seemed to rely on cringe moments instead of genuinely funny ones.
I hope I’ll come to revise my opinion on this, because I’m quite disappointed. I’d been looking forward to it so much.
The first half of the second series is better than the second half, in my view. That said, there are plenty of shows that I thought just showed the cringe factor that have been lauded as comedy genius, so don’t take my word for it!
I’m watching the rest of Broadchurch after finding a place to watch the entire thing in the US. The second season is good so far. I’m more interested in the sub-plot than the court case rn.
Last night we finished the second season of Interview with the Vampire. An absolutely phenomenal show. Jacob Anderson knocks it out of the park as Louis, so if you enjoyed him in Doctor Who Flux and want to see him more (and see him kiss boys ) I recommend this show!!
Me and my fiance have been watching Geek Girl on Netflix. We find it good and fun. Emily Carey has now played in this and House of Dragon and I think that she would be a fun Doctor.
After @shauny let us know that the second season of Interview with the Vampire was out, I have managed to rewatch the first season and watch the first 3 episodes of the second. It’s such a good adaptation of the book series.
Agreed. Not least because it revolved around James D’Arcy and Eve Myles! s2 was the weakest imo, but still incredibly good.
Speaking of series with lots of DW actors, allow me to recommend (to the forum at large, I mean) Blackpool, starring David Morrissey, David Tennant, and Sarah Parish, with David Bradley among others. It’s a deliciously soapy murder mystery/musical/melodrama that, for instance, includes the Davids duetting on These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.
