I’ve only seen the first serial of that show so far but I adored it!
Love Sapphire and Steel - Adventure Five is so good. I need to rewatch it - and I also need to listen to the BF series after I grabbed the downloads of Series 2 and 3 when they suddenly returned to the BF website.
My five year old has been riveted by the Danish children’s television treasure that is “John Dillermand” lately, so that has been on the screen quite a bit lately
How to describe this show so that Handles won’t flag me…
It’s a short-form stop-motion, claymation show by the national Danish broadcaster DR on it’s children’s channel “Ramasjang” (translates roughly to shenanigans), and it is about a guy that has the world’s longest well, penis. And he can use it as a pogo stick, as a helicopter, to fight off lions, you name it. And it is hilarious
Yes, some might find this very much not suitable for children (I actually think it was banned in Sweden), but this is very much standard Danish humour.
Just watch this subtitled intro song:
Oh also just rewatched the first two episodes of Star Wars Rebels season 5 (that some for reasons unknown call Ahsoka when they made the switch to live action ) It’s just still not up to the standard I would expect of a show about the amazing Ahsoka Tano, it’s good but nowhere near Andor or Mandalorian season 1 levels. And I don’t quite feel as if Rosario Dawson really captures the essence of the title character…
Well that is hilarious, I’d love that to be on the BBC
I was a little disappointed with Ahsoka but still love it, to be honest my favourite character was the little we saw of Chopper
The Danes are crazy! Can you imagine that on CBeebies (our preschool channel)?
I can imagine what GBNews would say if CBeebies showed that… it wouldn’t be pretty.
Wow! I never knew about this! This obviously hasn’t arrived in Finland, and I suspect that it’s because the humour is perhaps a bit too rough for our children/parents (although, I find it quite funny!).
I have not heard of it and it might have been banned here, but SVT (our public service) produced this for Swedish children.
Here is Conans take on it:
What a catchy song Love it!
And Conan is loving it! Even if he is covering his bases by saying it is disgusting
I am having a pretty stressful time at work and home at the moment. This makes me want to watch comfort shows. Right now I am mostly watching the American version of The Office.
Such a good show.
Kevin bringing in chilli and the fire drill are some of the funniest TV moments ever.
I’m almost finished on the first season of Dead City. Really enjoyed Daryl Dixon and think that may be the superior series but have really enjoyed Dead City so far. I think Lauren Cohan is excellent (one of those dream Doctor castings actually) and she’s not let me down in these episodes.
Also finished The Umbrella Academy the other day and, maybe a year from now, I can see myself going back to rewatch it all from the beginning.
Watched the first episode of Poirot. I’ve not read any of the books so can’t say how good of a adaptation it is but I really enjoyed it.
The David Suchet one? Utterly definitive as far as Poirot goes - although I’ve not read much Christie so, likewise, I don’t know if much was changed between book and screen.
I’ve read all of Christie’s work multiple times (kind of an obsession in my younger years ). I agree, David Suchet is the perfect Poirot.
(and he still gets better with every season)
Finished Dead City and had a good time. Still prefer Daryl Dixon but prefer both over The Ones Who Live.
Also did The Jetty which was only fine. Jenna was very good but it was hyped up as the natural successor to Happy Valley which it just wasn’t. Not even close. I’m told Sherwood is excellent so that’s next on the list.
It’s Labor Day weekend here in the US which means we got Monday off Therefore we’ve watched a lot of telly
We finished A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder which was excellent, then yesterday we watched Locke and Key which we started ages ago and finally finished s1. And today we started A Discovery of Witches bc it’s just come to Netflix and I watched the first series ages ago (totally not for Alex Kingston reasons) and I didn’t realise they’d done more
Big Cats 24/7, another great BBC nature show. Wildlife filmmakers follow lions, leopards and cheetahs in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
