Just rewatching bits of Whitechapel (ITV) at the moment, such an underrated show.
Whitechapel was a great show. There are some good lesser known crime dramas - Messiah and No Offence both spring to mind.
Oh I’ve never heard of them, I’ll check them out once I’ve finished
Finally finished Prodigy Season 2. Very much need a season 3, which already has quite a setup. All the characters have come a long way. (Especially Dal.)
Of course, funny thing with Maj’el was that every so often I’d look away when she was talking and it was suddenly Amethyst from Steven Universe. (And one line was definitely them giving a nod to her being Vee on Owl House as well…)
Still kind of amazing to watch that and know some exec just wanted to cancel it and toss it away, after it was basically finished with it being that good…
Finally got around to Blake’s 7
Watched the first episode yesterday evening. This seems very much like a show for me
I’ve also just rewatched WandaVision in preparation for the Agatha Harkness series coming this autumn, haven’t watched it since it came out. A really great concept for a show, but the final episode wasn’t quite up to scratch in my eyes. Agnes/Agatha was definitely the highlight!
I believe it got scuppered by Covid or something because Kat Denning’s Darcy (one of my favourite MCU characters) was supposed to feature a lot more (her sudden absence from it is rather glaring if I remember).
Yeah I wondered why Darcy suddenly, basically was written out and why the whole handling of the White Vision was resolved so hastily and almost hand waved away.
I didn’t think about when it was made, everything makes sense now
Agent Woo and Darcy together was really great. But wasn’t Darcy a bit more “bumbling fool” in the Thor films rather than astrophysical computer-genious?
Watched Jackpot! on Amazon Prime Video.
No masterpiece, with a slow start and Awkwafina playing basically the same character I’m familiar with from other movies.
Still, all in all, it was solid fun. Cena is really good in it, and the dynamic between him and Awkwafina works well.
I’ve also started that recently! I’ve seen the first four episodes already
I just started Broadchurch and it seems good so far.
Broadchurch is very good. It was her role in this that has me excited for the potential of Jodie’s era when her casting was first announced.
I heard it was. I admit that I was a little bit concerned about her character in the first episode but as I watched the next one she did grow on me.
Finally began the last () series of Inside No. 9. Goodness but I love this show! I’ll miss it so much.
And Boo to a Goose was an incredible opener, too–both hilarious and horrifying at the same time–until the end, where it turns into something equally hilarious and horrifying, but in a completely different way!
One of their absolute best episodes ever.
I’ve started a rewatch of the entire series. After the first two which are iconic, I watched Tom and Gerri which I remembered nothing about. It slowly came back to me as it proceeded. A chilling ending but probably one of their more straightforward stories.
Just read that The Acolyte has been cancelled after 1 season and now I’m super mad at the people review-bombing it
Nooooooo!
I loved that
This is the worst thing about modern television. Shows don’t get the chances they deserve
We are watching the second season of House of the Dragon. While not perfect I think that it is fun and interesting. Also Matt Smith even if I am not that big of a fan of his arc during this season.
We’re coming to the end of the cancelled Quantum Leap reboot and it’s been amazing- dare I say better than the original (which I love). Only the good die young I suppose but it is extremely frustrating that those in charge of TV only seem to care about the wrong things.
I preferred the original but this was a fun reboot. Shame it didn’t continue but I think its ratings driven like with The Acolyte.
