TV Time - (but not Doctor Who!)

I am mostly watching the Olympics. I love this completion and getting caught up in sports I did not know existed.

I really liked the Acolyte and am very much hoping for a second season :crossed_fingers:

Mae’s hair is at least 20cm longer than Osha’s, what are you on about  I was super surprised that Carrie Ann Moss was killed off like 5 minutes into the first episode. Really love Sol!

I’m currently finishing up The Mentalist with my mom. I still have to catch up on the first 3 season since I started watching it when my mom and one of my brothers did and I joined in halfway through.

I saw the trailer and didn’t dig it. There is probably something in there that I’d like, but I’m not gonna spend time watching it.

I’m catching up on this week’s WWE stuff.

Just finished watching The Acolyte, we binged the last few episodes because we were loving it so much.

I honestly am baffled why it was rated so low. Well, I’m not. I have my suspicions about that.

But really, I think it was one of the greatest things Star Wars have ever put out.

(No spoilers below)

It was new, exciting, different! It was a murder mystery and the more you watched it the more sides to the story you learnt, with many flashbacks and revealing twists and turns.

It was an interesting story about how one person’s view on what is right is not the same as someone else’s. It showed nuance. Out with the childish “the Jedi are always perfect and the dark side is pure evil” this actually had something grown up to say.

I really hope there is a second series because I want to see more. I really hope the bigots don’t win here, just because the main cast aren’t white, the lead is female, there are queer characters, and because it dared to be something new. The galaxy is big enough for so many more stories!

(You know that when the audience score is this different to the critic score that something is definitely fishy!)

I just finished the 6 episodes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Friends have jovially mocked me for persevering with The Walking Dead main show and I can’t lie it’s been tricky at times but, in all honesty, I’m glad I made it through the whole thing. These spin-offs have been fairly slow in coming to the UK but I can enjoy them as limited series knowing full well they won’t be the commitment the main show was.

The Ones Who Live was, y’know, FINE but I really did enjoy Daryl’s first season. The change in setting, Clemence Poesy’s new character and Norman Reedus thriving on the differences really helped I thought.

I love The Walking Dead with all of its flaws. God a bit disappointed by the end that did not feels like an end. I am excited about the Daryl show but it has not come to Sweden yet.

I liked Daryl Dixon. It was an interesting take on the WD world.

The Ones Who Live didn’t do much for me.

Dead City was a cool idea that lost me in the last couple of episodes for some reason.

Thanks for the tip. I just finished watching Caped Crusader . It’s a brilliant interpretation of Batman.

The first trailer for The Last of Us 2 has dropped. It looks nice but the long gap is killing all hype for me. I barely remember the first season by now and it won’t release until next year. I would much rather that they did not aim for movie quality of SX and kept a yearly release schedule. Stranger Things is another example of this.

I’m still excited for the second season. My only issues is that I hope it’s convincing that there has been a time jump.

Season 4 is out, so I started rewatching The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. I’m currently stunned by how really, really good Season 1 is and how different it is from other shows.

Thanks for that. I didn’t realise season 4 was out. Will watch that on my day off tomorrow.

I’ve just seen the first two episodes of Blake’s 7! Previously I’d seen the first and the very beginning of the second but not been interested enough to go further; now I’m very excited to continue and I think I’m seeing why this show is so popular!

I really like Blake’s 7 so I hope you enjoy it! I rewatched it myself a few years ago and I think Season 1 is probably my favourite.

Recently worked through Series 1 and 2 with my eldest and there were quite a few episodes I hardly remembered anything about from my first watch. I’m currently listening to the BF 40th anniversary audio The Way Ahead and I’m going to listen to Warship, the audio set after Star One, before we embark on Series 3 and 4.

I highly recommend all of BF’s audio Blake’s 7 - they are very high quality.

I watched the first 12 episodes of “Shaman King” on Netflix. I enjoyed the positive message of the show, which I would summarize as “forgive your foes and they become friends; no need for revenge,” as well as the simple storytelling. It’s perfect to relax after a mentally exhausting day at work. I have a feeling the story will get more complicated from now on. Maybe I will stop watching. But nevertheless, it’s a good show.
