"First broadcast in four weekly parts from 28 May to 18 June 1966. In this early story, the Doctor (William Hartnell) and his travelling companions Steven (Peter Purves) and Dodo (Jackie Lane), arrive on an unnamed planet where they encounter two distinct people - the Elders and the Savages.
They soon discover the Elders are the evil ones, draining the primitive Savages for their life source to remain young and powerful forever. This story marks the final appearance of Purves as Steven.
This will be a three-disc release including all four animated episodes in colour and black and white, plus brand-new bonus features."

I thought the animation used for Toymaker was perfect for the story. I don’t have an issue with the animations being different from each other because the majority are in the current style with just a few different ones where there are good reasons why (Reign and Moonbase, for example, are fitting between exisitng episodes and were done long before the current run; Toymaker was playing to the story’s surrealness; Web of Fear was an experiment for one episode in a mostly existing story).
I always boggle at the fact these releases are designed to cater for as many tastes as possible - colour animation, black and white, the reconstructions. Doctor Who fans are so very lucky with these releases.
