Suggest Story Arcs

Similar to the other threads in this category, this thread is here for you (yes, you!) to help have a hand in the site!

Doctor Who has a whole load of ongoing story arcs, some that are contained within a single season, others that span seasons, series’, and even mediums, like Bad Wolf, Dalek Empire, and The Pantheon of Gods.

But there’s plenty more that are missing!

If you know of a story arc that’s not on the site, please mention it in this thread, and list all the stories (that you know of) that fall into it.

e.g.

The Pantheon of Gods
  • The Giggle - 60th Specials
  • The Devil’s Chord - Modern Series 1 Episode 2
  • etc

Something I’ve been thinking about whilst listening to the 7/Ace/Hex stories is how difficult it is to categorise them into a story arc!

Are the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn stories (including Arrangements for War and Thicker than Water part of the same arc as A Death in the Family? I think they must be. But which Seven stories fit into the arc? Does No Man’s Land? (the Forge?) Does The Magic Mousetrap (sets up Ace and Hex’s characterisation for ADitF, re: manipulation of the Doctor)?

If I had to go for it I would say these stories are all part of the arc that leads up to A Death in the Family:
  • Project: Twilight
  • Project: Lazarus
  • Arrangements for War
  • The Harvest
  • Thicker than Water
  • No Man’s Land
  • Forty-Five: Casualties of War
  • Forty-Five: The Word Lord
  • The Magic Mousetrap
  • Enemy of the Daleks
  • The Angel of Scutari
  • Project: Destiny
  • A Death in the Family

And Scutari begins the Black and White arc that I’m not qualified to comment on yet having not heard all the stories!

Edit: As does The Magic Mousetrap!

The other arc I would add off the top of my head is the Klein arc:

  • Colditz
  • A Thousand Tiny Wings
  • Klein’s Story
  • Survival of the Fittest
  • The Architects of History

She does appear in later stories but not quite as the same character and not in so connected an arc..

Technically Mousetrap is a prelude to the Black/White arc because of the chessboard.
