I don’t think we count ‘this companion travelling with the Doctor’ as an arc, otherwise we’d need one for every companion.
I also don’t think the Rocket Men have an arc - it’s just a recurring enemy. Again, we’d need arcs for every adversary if that were so.

I agree about the Rocket Men, the three stories aren’t connected beyond the presence of representatives of the group, there’s not even individuals who are in more than one story because they tend to die after a showdown with the companion narrating.
An arc needs to have a narrative thread that connects the stories in it beyond just the characters, the characters need to have a consistent role within the narrative. The 2009 Sixth Doctor trilogy works as an arc because there’s a heavy narrative element tying the stories together, at least for Patient Zero and Blue Forgotten Planet. We have set-up and pay off.

I’d like there to be a Marc arc (with 5, Nyssa and Tegan) but it’ simply not necessary — his character page is enough

Does that need to be a Viyran arc and include the various single episode releases. It’s more than recurring ‘enemy’ because it’s about what happens in Patient Zero affecting all those stories which is then wrapped up in BFP (but then sort of continued in Charlotte Pollard’s solo series).

Or we do not count seasons as an arc?

I think s27 defo counts I feel as there’s an arc there’s the whole ace stuff the Raine stuff with her parents runs throughout the season and the aliens of story 2 n 3 I think join up in story 4 so in a way it’s kind of a arc of themes

We have sets for seasons. I would only call it an arc if it is like Bad Wolf and only includes the episodes that mention it.

That’s kind of what I was thinking too. Seasons can be found by themselves and as sets. I don’t see how adding them as an arc is beneficial in any way?

Yeah id say it’s just the Raine arc
Cause Raine is born in thin ice then Raine is a companion in crime then Raine finds out about the future and leaves for a bit and comes back to defeat the aliens she thought against in crime and animal
I still don’t know if I’d call that an arc, sadly: it’s just the journey of one companion.
