PODCAST NEWS:

• The Human Frontier should be recording near the end of the year.

NON-BIG FINISH PODCAST NEWS:

• The cover and cast details for The Seventh Doctor Adventures: The Last Day Pt. 2 are out.
  • Whilst not officially announced, the subtitle for The War Doctor Rises: Vol. 1 is called Morbius the Mighty.
  • Two more Lost Stories are announced featuring ‘Deathworld’ (I knew I wasn’t crazy!!!). An adaptation of the original script for The Three Doctors, and Operation Werewolf, featuring the Second Doctor, Jamie and Zoe.
  • Full cast and story details for Missy Series 4 is out.
  • The Doctor Daughter Series 4 is announced!

Something interesting about this podcast (which I’ve just listened to) is that the epic backlog of Fourth Doctor Adventures were, according to Nick, recorded at Tom Baker’s request—he wanted to do as many as possible before it’s impossible.

I can’t find it right now, but I read somewhere that Louise Jameson said that she has at least a dozen recorded stories with Tom that don’t have release dates yet. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is 30+ in the backlog, or there is a load that have his part recorded but not other characters. I’ve heard he likes to just bash through scripts one after another.

Saw on a Big Finish group I’m part of on Facebook someone posted May release dates for stuff from Twitter. Eighth Doctor: Echoes drops on Thursday (May 16), Missy: Bad Influence drops on May 21, and the new Ninth Doctor set drops on May 29.

This is equally eerie and sad to me. Imagine that there will come a day in the not so distant future where we will be listening to new Fourth Doctor Adventures knowing that the man himself has long since passed away. I’m dreading that day!

Saw on a Big Finish group I’m part of on Facebook someone posted May release dates for stuff from Twitter

This is super helpful, it allowed me to schedule all those sets in advance so I don’t have to worry about scrambling to add them as soon as they drop.

Could we maybe have a thread for future release dates so I can keep up to date? (I don’t use Facebook and rarely use Twitter).

PODCAST NEWS:

• While Big Finish are doing the Deathworld adaptation even though there’s very little of info available, there are still no plans to do The Six Doctors as was originally intended for the 20th anniversary as there are even less details available.
• No plans for more Companion Chronicles featuring 80’s companions.
• One of the reasons Big Finish have experimented with a “Boxset divided into individual CD’s and released monthly” as seen with Sontarans vs. Rutans (and presumably Dark Gallifrey) came down to the fact that during inflation hikes, people may have been more willing to just buy individual stories and not worry about a bulk boxset. It was also mentioned that this increases plastic usage which itself isn’t good, and that they’re trying to figure out the best way to do these releases.

NON-BIG FINISH PODCAST DOCTOR WHO NEWS:

• December’s Eighth Doctor release has its title released: Deadly Strangers.
• Gallifrey - War Room Vol. 3 moved from September 2024 to November 2024.
• Cover, news, and story details on The War Doctor: Morbius the Mighty are out.
