Something interesting about this podcast (which Iā€™ve just listened to) is that the epic backlog of Fourth Doctor Adventures were, according to Nick, recorded at Tom Bakerā€™s requestā€”he wanted to do as many as possible before itā€™s impossible.

I canā€™t find it right now, but I read somewhere that Louise Jameson said that she has at least a dozen recorded stories with Tom that donā€™t have release dates yet. It wouldnā€™t surprise me if there is 30+ in the backlog, or there is a load that have his part recorded but not other characters. Iā€™ve heard he likes to just bash through scripts one after another.

Saw on a Big Finish group Iā€™m part of on Facebook someone posted May release dates for stuff from Twitter. Eighth Doctor: Echoes drops on Thursday (May 16), Missy: Bad Influence drops on May 21, and the new Ninth Doctor set drops on May 29.

This is equally eerie and sad to me. Imagine that there will come a day in the not so distant future where we will be listening to new Fourth Doctor Adventures knowing that the man himself has long since passed away. Iā€™m dreading that day!

This is super helpful, it allowed me to schedule all those sets in advance so I donā€™t have to worry about scrambling to add them as soon as they drop.

Could we maybe have a thread for future release dates so I can keep up to date? (I donā€™t use Facebook and rarely use Twitter).

Iā€™m not on Twitter and not on Facebook as often as I used to be. This is my primary social media spot now. So, if I happen to see something, Iā€™ll pass it on, but canā€™t guarentee anything.

Iā€™m going to create a new thread that I can maintain with future releases. Iā€™m still on Twitter, and they usually give releases dates a week or so before. Iā€™ll just have to pay more attention to them.

Iā€™m on Twitter occasionally and I listen to the Big Finish podcast as well, so Iā€™ll try to keep track of the release dates so I can pass them along before the releases drop :slightly_smiling_face:

PODCAST NEWS:

  • While Big Finish are doing the Deathworld adaptation even though thereā€™s very little of info available, there are still no plans to do The Six Doctors as was originally intended for the 20th anniversary as there are even less details available.
  • No plans for more Companion Chronicles featuring 80ā€™s companions.
  • One of the reasons Big Finish have experimented with a ā€œBoxset divided into individual CDā€™s and released monthlyā€ as seen with Sontarans vs. Rutans (and presumably Dark Gallifrey) came down to the fact that during inflation hikes, people may have been more willing to just buy individual stories and not worry about a bulk boxset. It was also mentioned that this increases plastic usage which itself isnā€™t good, and that theyā€™re trying to figure out the best way to do these releases.

Every time they announce one of these Eight and Lucie bundles I have a little heart attack because I have a split second when I think theyā€™re announcing new Lucie Miller stories :sob: which I know is deeply unlikely because Sheridan Smith is so busy, but a girl can dream :smiling_face_with_tear:
