I would at least check out Timewyrm: Revelation by Paul Cornell. It’s easily the best of the four, and not only does it introduce characters that I think pop up again, it also examines the character of the Doctor really interestingly and is just a really good read. Plus, we’ll be covering it for Book Club on the 15th.
Nice haul, I need to pull out my vhs collection one day.
Why is everyone determined to give me nostalgia chills?!
Having these on a shelf is pure nostalgia for me, and will take me back to my youth. I do miss the aesthetic of the old boxes. Even if they just sit on a shelf, it will be worth it.
I have all the covers (many of the with multiple autographs) in a folder with all the VHS boxes/tapes sitting in the loft.
you got Paul MugGann!!!
I got Shada in the mail yesterday and found the rest at a used bookstore today. All in pretty much mint condition, so somebody’s obviously selling their collection.
Nice old cover on that copy of The Apocalypse Element.
You’ll have to jump onto the Audio Club: The Apocalypse Element thread when you’ve finished it. Plus, we’re tackling Only Human in the Book Club starting June 1.
I probably will, but apparently the assumption that I had a cd player and knew exactly where to find it was false, so it might be a while.
Nevermind, cd player acquired! My dad had a portable one that hasn’t been used since probably around the time I was born. Somehow it still works.
Yes, CD players are like that. Mine is about my age as well.
