Seems.to have all been a bit of a disaster so far. New websites always have teething problems but a lot of this could have been avoided with proper testing before going live.
Thereās also the handful of releases available on Spotify and the doctor who podcast.
But yeah, this site launch is completely botched. I would say arguably the app is worse, at least the site we see theyāve tried to make changes for the better with Multi-buy, the app is just a completely inferior version of the previous one.
Tried āpurchasingā a free audiobook. It mandated that I fill out a physical address for a free digital download, but had a dropdown with my name and a fake address at unknown zipcode, London, and I chose that. When I told it to complete the purchase, it went to a page with a spinning progress wheel that never stopped spinning. I did see an email coming through that I had it, and it was in my library when I checked, though.
This website really wasnāt ready.
I hate to think this, but it almost seems like theyāre using their faithful customers as a secret beta test. Because, we will undoubtedly, and very vocally, point out every bug and anti-feature we can find.
Looked at my Big Finish reciepts and yeah looks like only my most recent purchases (from April 25 and July 12) arenāt in my library on the new site. Iāve downloaded a scattering of stuff (mostly to see about any bonus stuff included in the zipped folder), but I donāt think I need to be in hurry to download everything again since I already have pretty much all of it downloaded already. I do think Iāll finish the list from the old app before it goes away though just in case I need it.
One thing I donāt like about the new user dashboard, where it shows all your purchased titles, is that on top of not including the page number in the URL for easy jumping around, each page of purchased titles is only FIVE items per page. Itās not like youāve got ten, twenty or thirty to a page, you have FIVE and no option to change the number per page. At least when youāre browsing their catalog, you can choose between 16, 24 and 36, plus the page number is in the URL. But FIVE and no page number in the URL, thatās rediculous.
Iām waiting until the 5th to get in touch about it but pretty much all my purchases are gone. Iāve got proof of each purchase so Iām not overly worried but in a more immediate sense Iāve got a lot I want to listen to and canāt.
Still, there are greater problems right now so Iām fine deploying a little patience at the moment and suppose Iāll listen to, I dunno, music or something.
I really hope the bugs are ironed out because, and maybe Iāll post this in the controversial opinions thread⦠I like the look of the new site much better
The app has had an update already, fixing some of the problems.
The playlist now holds more than one audio and the list of stuff you have shows the total number of releases.
I bet they are working hard to iron out the biggest issues. Thisāll be sorted out, trust me!
Yeah as folks have said before this is such a clear cut case of corporate giving a strict deadline for going live and the developers not having time to finish and test stuff

One tiny, minuscule problem tho uhhhā¦. WHERE THE HELL DID MY BERNICE SUMMERFIELD OH NO IT ISNT AUDIO GO? I literally got that at a sale for free bruh. Did it just poof vanish now⦠this is just ridiculous now.

The order numbers all got updated when the website changed. Someone on Twitter pointed this out.
So the new order numbers are virtually useless.
If weāre talking good old days of the BigFinish site.
Then the 2012 - 2019 version was easily the best.
Itās ridiculous that they expect us to sort through our entire download library because of theyāre mistake.
Iāve got well over 1K releases, so will likely only notice Iām missing - I dunno, something random - āThe Doomsday Quatrainā when I decide to randomly relisten to it in like six months time.

But yeah itās so daft that the expectation is that weāll have either a memory or record of each of the hundreds and hundreds of releases that weāve bought over the last ten, fifteen, twenty years, and at the same time not even give us a good way to systematically look over everything. Iām really looking forward to sort by range being reinstated because thatās just driving me nuts
Iām tempted to just compile all of my proof of purchases, thankfully I donāt delete my emails, and email it all to Big Finish and tell them
āYou want proof of purchase, ok hereās everything, sort it out yourself.ā
Iāve mentioned this several times, but I genuinely think there needs to be a new leadership team at BigFinish.
And by that I mean, for Godās sake, someone ditch that ego maniac Briggsy already.

God I hate this new website. Utter crap.
I have some hope, theyāve changed the multibuy system already follwoing feedback. And the Apps already been updated to tackle some of its issues.
I think the issue is the siteās been released unfinished. They seemingly wanted to rush it, cause it to be a mess.
Wow itās actually gone. I canāt find any receipt even though I swear on my TIMBS that I got it. I can prove that they put it up for free 3 TIMES but welp⦠great.
