Love a good musical although my number one favourite is the 2008 film Repo! the Genetic Opera which. may stretch the definition of “good” 
It’s one of those things in which absolutely everyone commits to it and it looks great, even if some of the plot doesn’t quite land

It was good. Not stunning, fairly standard Disney stage adaptation. None of the added songs were up to much and the choreography was terrible but the staging was excellent and the Muses and Hades were great. The script had good gags too.

Oh don’t- my eldest has been on all day about the inaccuracies of Disney’s version of the ‘myth’. Didn’t help seeing Hadestown 2 days ago!

Well I mean it’s very good tho, sure not very accurate, but it’s a lovely film, maybe one of their best, certainly a personal favorite of mine!
That said if you ever watch a disney film, make it fox and the hound, okay, thanks for coming to my small talk

One of my personal favourites is We Will Rock You. I think it’s a really fun musical about the power of music, and its themes about the power of creativity versus artificially generated music feel more relevant today in this world of AI. I wish they’d adapt it for the big screen as it’s the one musical that would hugely benefit from a movie adaptation.

Musical #3 - absolutely brilliant and I’ll even forgive the cutting a lot of my favourite songs from the original (which I saw back in 1988 or thereabouts). It’s the musical which absolutely cemented my love of musical theatre and I think this production has done it for my daughter. We had trackside seats and she got high fives and fist bumps from the cast as they sped past.
It’s basically the revamped score from the 90s (which has a couple of terrible songs (Make Up My Heart is too cheesy for words and they cut Only He for THAT!) but I’ll let them off only because they kept UNCOUPLED, One Rock & Roll and I am the Starlight). (And it doesn’t need the cute kid but hey ho).
The costumes, choreo and overall staging are phenomenal and the skating is thrilling when you have whizzing past inches away.
Go and see it!

I thought my fellow musical enthusiasts would like to know that the filmed Broadway production of Hamilton will be in movie theaters for a limited time starting on Thursday, September 4th (at least in the US), and that The Sound of Music will be in movie theaters for a limited run starting on Friday, September 12th for its 60th anniversary (again, at least in the US). I will definitely be seeing those!
