Another mug from my childhood today (I am starting to miss my giant Mickey Mug ).

The bear is “Rasmus Klump” - a very beloved children’s cartoon character here in Denmark.
The penguin is called Pingo, which is the basis for the nickname for our new King Frederik X from when he was in the Frogman Corps (military special forces)
Also they have a pelican friend with a dimensionally transcendental beak/trunk? that it has got basically everything in.

End of today’s Danish culture lesson :denmark::grin:

Oooh, it’s Rasmus Nalle! A childhood favourite!

I never realised that it was from Denmark!

This was a good culture lesson and now I got nostalgic as well.

My wife’s off to work today, so I have a few hours to myself!

Time to pop out a new mug for the morning coffee. Finnish design from Marimekko once again.

There are 25 Provinces of Sweden and each of them has an animal and a flower. We have alot of different mugs with animals. This is Närkes animal a shrew.

yes u called?

and @MrColdStream we mainly follow the brits in these terms, with scones being sweet and cakey (though there are savoury scone recipes), biscuits covering both sweet (cookies) and savoury (crackers). However, where we do differ is with chips:

Here is one of the very few non-plain mugs that we have and look @MrColdStream it has gonks on it!

I’ve no idea where or when we got it though, it seems to have been in the cupboard forever

Uuuh, I hate the crisps/chips thing, because I can never get it right. What Brits call crisps and Americans chips are called chips in Finnish/Swedish as well. But then I just think of fish & chips, a very British food, and it helps me remember that fries are chips, and therefore chips are crisps.

Oh my! I shall not show that to my wife, otherwise we’re going to have a billion gonk mugs in our cupboards as well!

But that’s a pretty cute mug actually

I was confused for a long time about the whole crisps/chips/fries situation. Time to learn some Chinese to clear things up. It’s literally potato slices/bars, so straightforward you’ll never get confused!

I need to make sure your wife gives you plenty of chores when she’s not around to stop you hammering that leaderboard.

Oh I love that mug!!!

No need, I have given plenty of chores to myself. Cleaning the house and stuff, while listening to Big Finish.

And I’m away a bit later when I’m at the movies, so you have plenty of opportunity to catch up
