Exactly!!!

Tea first if you’re making a mug, milk first if you’re pouring from a tapot!

Ok, I think I’m getting some the differences between UK and US English. Those my friend, are biscuts with butter and jam. What you Brits call biscuts are actually cookies. Biscuts (or scones if you want me to be more precise) are really good smothered in a hamburger or sausage gravy.

Fixed it for you!

US scones and US biscuits and UK scones are all ever so slightly different

US scones: sweet pastry, denser and cakier

UK scones: savoury, more of a crumb

US biscuits: savoury, more similar to what someone in the UK would call a dumpling

all are delicious

While I’ve tried milk in tea before, didn’t end up caring for it. Sometimes I do sugar, sometimes not.

My coffee otoh, is definitely going to have milk or creamer and sugar. It could very well be mocha or peppermint or pumpkin spice or such. Completely black coffee just doesn’t work for me.

(Just had some peppermint mocha coffee…)

I approve, and we all know that both the Ninth and Thirteenth Doctors would approve also.

Love this exchange so much. Clever man, that Douglas Adams. Too clever by seven eighths!

All this talk of scones and biscuits and cookies and tea or milk first is making me dizzy.

Or maybe it’s just the beer I just had.

All that is left now is an Aussie coming here and telling us all that biscuits are called boinkers, cookies are cakers and scones are sconers and milk is actually tea and tea needs Vegemite and it’s all very upside down and then my mind is blown!

I have no time now. Just off out for a Christmas Stand Up variety show. This, however, is a thread I feel duty bound to contribute to when I have time.

After all, not to do so would be monstrous.

By which of the five criteria? I shall leave you, dear reader, to decide for yourself.

And if you add another “k” in the middle, you get “kakka”, the Finnish word for poop.

Also, in Finland Swedish, we’d probably say “sex” instead. If you switch the “k” for an “s”, you get the Swedish word for “six”.

That’s literally what it is in Finnish as well, pikkuleipä = small bread.
