The best one! The loose log instigated scene of traffic carnage has never been bettered. & the tone of humour & gore is perfect.

Oh that opening disaster! Utterly gripping and, as you say, has never been bettered. I think the Bloodlines disaster may be a corker judging by the trailer, but my rankings for those opening disasters would be:

  1. Log carnage
  2. Bridge collapse
  3. Aeroplane explosion
  4. Rollercoaster
  5. Race track (goes way too hard on the 3D aspect)

Looking forward to seeing your Thoughts on it, I don’t even know where I rate it, it’s a bit of a mess

On another Note, all that Final Destination Talk here makes me curious if I should give the Series a try

It was certainly an experience…

Finished the Saw franchise with Saw X today, honestly the best in the series, absolutely loved it, and I’m now kinda disappointed that Saw XI’s probably cancelled

I don’t know what to watch now. But I have a couple of choices.

  • Oppenheimer (2023)
  • American Graffiti (1973)
  • Pain & Gain (2013)
  • Napoleon (1927)

Saw X was fab!!! I’m lowkey glad we’re not getting another as it was supposed to be Hoffman focused :face_with_bags_under_eyes: I don’t care for the character and the actors quite probelamtic I believe

Voted Oppenheimer just for the experience alone. It’s good but a tad overhyped IMO, still worth a watch.

I watched it at like 9am in cinema then Barbie immediately after :sob:

Ohh I didn’t know that, maybe it’s for the best for them to end on a high then haha

Do you recommend Barbie?

Lowkey wish they’d do a Halloween and do another timeline post Saw 2 pre Saw 3. With John and Amanda or even just Amanda.

Oh Barbie was phenomenal!!! Couldn’t recommend enough. I love the story, the music and the vibe. Nearly everyone I know who’s seen it has enjoyed it.

I’ll plus 1 for both Oppenheimer and Barbie, imo they’re both absolutely must watch movies. I ended up watching both in the same day during the whole Barbieheimer craze, and honestly I think they both deserve all the praise they got. Barbie is just an all around fun movie, with excellent musical numbers, and a pretty powerful message to boot.

You can never go wrong with Barbenheimer—two very different but equally phenomenal movies. One is long, brooding, and at times intense; the other is colourful, fun, and original. One has the best lead performance of the year; the other one has the best song of the year. One is about a doctor; the other one features the Doctor. Both are directed by two of our most talented directors.

While a shame, on a positive Note, isn’t it nice that the Series seemingly ended on such a good Note (especially when one considered the failures of Jig saw and Spiral!)

I recommend Oppenheimer, while I have my Issues with it, Directing-wise it’s excellent and easily one of the best recent Nolan’s Films that I have seen (I do like Nolan, but have my Issues with some of his 2010s Films).
Echoing what others have said about Barbie, not my favorite Film from Gerwig (that would be the wonderful Lady Bird), but the Production Design is quite nice. It has some great Music to it and overall seemed like one of the ‘Must-Watch’ Flicks from the 2020s, even if I didn’t love it as many others did.

Interesting take on why it seems like once powerful IPs feel like they’re failing:

For the record, that anger emoji isn’t directed at you, but because it’s been a while since I last thought of Jill Bearup… and there’s a reason for that. In lieu of a lengthy rant, let’s just say she has more in common with Gareth Roberts than I would’ve liked.

Ah. And I don’t necessarily have any opinions on the content of the video. I just thought it was an interesting thought.
