(Moving “The Tragedy of Macbeth” convo here) @monkeyshaver, I think I’m invested now . I totally was not expecting Macbeth to lodge his dagger into that dude’s throat, gee whiz.
Also his wife’s lines are pretty questionable sometimes and it makes me laugh. I know some Shakespeare lines are supposed to be read in two ways, and I keep wondering if I’ve stumbled upon one.
I just wanto to say, Seven Samurai (1954, dir. Akira Kurosawa) is my joint fav film of all time alongside Godzilla (1954, dir. Ishiro Honda).
Which is weird, since they’re both culturally significant Japanese B&W films, both were released in the same year and both of the films’ directors were personal friends.
That spoiler bit is so tempting me!! I doubt I’ll see this in the cinema as my wife doesn’t like horror films but I really want to see this as I’ve enjoyed all the previous iterations on some level.
Watched a great film on iPlayer the other day - man on the moon. A biopic about Andy Kaufman - performance artist / comedian / wrestler.
Really good stuff.
Watching Spiral: From the Book of Saw at the moment, not sure why I put myself through these but since I’ve watched the first nine now I may as well carry on…
