(Moving “The Tragedy of Macbeth” convo here) @monkeyshaver, I think I’m invested now :eyes:. I totally was not expecting Macbeth to lodge his dagger into that dude’s throat, gee whiz.

Also his wife’s lines are pretty questionable sometimes and it makes me laugh. I know some Shakespeare lines are supposed to be read in two ways, and I keep wondering if I’ve stumbled upon one.

That being said, I’ve given suck.

Kathryn Hunter gives an incredible physical performance as the witches.

Just got back from an early screening of Final Destination: Bloodlines, fantastic film, best deaths of the whole franchise

Oh I didn’t know it was out yet!

Edit: Oh. Early screening.

I never realized how many DW titles are based off Shakespeare. Just in this play I’ve heard “Sleep No More” and “Night’s Black Agents”.

I just wanto to say, Seven Samurai (1954, dir. Akira Kurosawa) is my joint fav film of all time alongside Godzilla (1954, dir. Ishiro Honda).

Which is weird, since they’re both culturally significant Japanese B&W films, both were released in the same year and both of the films’ directors were personal friends.

That spoiler bit is so tempting me!! I doubt I’ll see this in the cinema as my wife doesn’t like horror films but I really want to see this as I’ve enjoyed all the previous iterations on some level.

Classics!

Post must be at least Seven Samurai long.

I think my current vibe is 60s & 70s martial arts/chanbara/wuxia films with female leads. This one leans into the melodrama.

Arguably one of Bay’s finest efforts as a filmmaker.

Watched a great film on iPlayer the other day - man on the moon. A biopic about Andy Kaufman - performance artist / comedian / wrestler.
Really good stuff.

Watching Spiral: From the Book of Saw at the moment, not sure why I put myself through these but since I’ve watched the first nine now I may as well carry on…

Average Saw viewing experience tbh :sob:

I binge watched them the other year and was shocked that that John, the literal main character, is dead for most of the franchise :sob:

I mean it’s impressive how he still somehow manages to be the main character in every film as well, there’s that many flashbacks :sob:

Great fun.

But I forgot about this moment before they board the plane :grimacing:
