Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill return to Doctor Who in new Thirteenth Doctor adventures

I agree that Missy would be fun. Especially if the Dhawan Master is around too.
The tenth Doctor. Simply, because I think Whittaker and Tennant would have great chemistry.
Romana. No reason, just Romana.

13 has met 10 already to be fair, though being in comics you don’t get Whittaker and Tennant’s chemistry

  1. But apart from that no one else.

This excellent news! I’m so looking forward to these releases. Also, Big Finish are sure to add an extra dimension to Jodie’s portrayal. I’m certain both Jodie and Mandip will step up to the plate and knock this out the park!

I’m grinning from ear to ear.

I think this will be really good. I hope that Big Finish can get some of the writers from that run along for the ride too. I have a feeling that the BF team will be able to do something very special with this era. There were so many good ideas, some of which didn’t quite work out in the TV run, but, with the pressure of creating great visuals taken off, I really hope that the stories will shine. I felt that both of their characters didn’t quite fulfil their whole potential and this is a chance to flesh them out a bit more. I’m really looking forward to it.

I do love the Thirteenth Foctor and her era, but I’m inclined to agree. I think there is much ground to explore. The Big Finish stable of authors will relish the opportunity and 13 may profit in a similar way to Sixie. Good times ahead!

13’s Dalek stories are all so good, but because we’ve already seen three of them and the Daleks can sometimes feel oversaturated, I don’t feel any particular desire for a Dalek story in this range.

Unless it features Terry Molloy as Davros. That’s something we haven’t gotten yet. Davros stories are make or break by his and the Doctor’s interactions, and Davros really needs the right sort of Doctor to play against, which I think Jodie Whittaker is! Molloy absolutely owns that role too, I think the two would play off of one another unbelievably well.

I think a Monk story would be fun, especially considering how Krasko in Rosa was basically a racist Meddling Monk anyway.

And 13 meeting Susan would be great too.

Oooh I’d LOVE to see 13 play off Davros. And hearing Susan say “Grandmother” would be so cute aaah~

It would just sound right somehow. I think Susan would love 13.

13 has met Susan in a short story already and it’s one of my favorite stories from her EU stuff!

Yep, great story. All the lockdown ones are excellent. Would be even better to hear them meet in a Big Finish audio though.

Just listened to the Podcast and looking forward to the audios even more now. Mandip and Jodie just have such a natural chemistry and it sounds like they are having great fun. Argh why do we have to wait for so long?

My wallet is really not liking this forum!

That’s the upside to the wait, you have a good deal of lead time to set money aside for them.

Wearing my “Timey Wimey” t shirt today, which prompted a complete stranger to ask me about Who. We had a good chat, in which she revealed her excitement for the news of Jodie and Mandip recording with Big Finish. Made me smile! It’s good to know others feel the same.

Got to say I am a little disappointed in Doctor Who Magazine ignoring the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz Big Finish announcement in this month’s Gallifrey Guardian. It just feels like the magazine, either intentionally or unintentionally, snubbing the Chibnall era.

I know sometimes they go to press late, but surely they could have had time to include the announcement?

I sincerely doubt they are ‘snubbing the Chibnall era’ and it is purely because the announcement came too late to include. Their lead times are quite long and the news literally only broke 5 days ago with the magazine dropping through letterboxes yesterday.

Magazines go to print at least a week before they launch.
