Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill return to Doctor Who in new Thirteenth Doctor adventures

Yeah, they’ll surely include it in the next issue and will probably feature a longer article or two about the new audios closer to their release as well.

I hope we get an interview with both Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill, and a lovely 13 and Yaz cover.

I don’t think it is, I did read somewhere that the reason we haven’t had certrain announcements is because it had to be held back until after the new season has finished. & the magazine was probably all ready to go before they got the news. I do think magazines are quite an old fashioned format now, especially for breaking news.

The idea of magazines as old fashioned is depressing. I wouldn’t want to live in a world without Doctor Who Magazine or Empire Magazine.

There is nothing like the joy of a new glossy DWM arriving on that white envelope through the letterbox once a month.

The best part is the comic strip. You can’t go wrong with a DWM comic story.

I miss the old “Time Team” featurette. Always made me smile, that did.

Excellent news! I love feeling like we have new Thirteenth Doctor adventures on the way. Maybe nearly a year to wait but… they’re coming and that, in itself, is a thing to cheer!

I really enjoyed Jodie’s run but am surprised by the sudden realisation that I do miss her. Not to take away from Fourteen or our incumbent Doctor, Fifteen, as I’ve loved (and continue to love) both of them too… but it’ll be so good to have Jodie and Mandip back. I’m really excited to see where the Big Finish team take them. Got a feeling it’ll be a blast!

I agree.

With the rare exception I’ve always wanted that little bit more from a Doctor. It’s like they always have more to give. But the three most pronounced were Chris, Matt and Jodie.

Chris has obviously had three full seasons worth at Big Finish, which was so gloriously unlikely that I feel like I got my wish several times over.

With Matt it was partly because I think his loose ends had to be rushed but mostly because I really, really liked him.

With Jodie it was obviously because I really liked her but I kind of wanted to see her Doctor under a different showrunner. No shade on Chibnall whatsoever, it had just never happened in the revival and a) I wanted more Jodie and b) I wanted Thirteen under RTD. Just to see… As BF gave me my wish re Eccleston, I’ll also be getting both with Jodie - more Thirteenth Doctor and Thirteenth Doctor under different stewardship.

But with Big Finish having given extra life (and decent quality of life too on the whole) to all the Doctors, but especially the Eighth, War and Ninth (heck, even the Eleventh with the recent Valarie series, even if Matt wasn’t along for thw ride), then I might go so far to say that the upcoming Thirteenth Doctor range is currently the one I’m most excited for.

I really really need more Jodie, not under RTD(!) so the upcoming BF range is my most anticipated release from BF.

Hopefully the website will be working by then lol

Seconded!

Give me something completely different, not from these guys that have been all over Doctor Who for almost 20! years.

Ooh some cheeky tidbits and a couple of episode titles in this month’s DWM!

Really am very pleased that this is on the horizon.

Just read the interview, their enthusiasm is really infectious. I’m really intrested in where Vampire Weekend will go, Ive preorderd the first two epsiodes and will preorder the rest based on how good they are.

All I can think of when I hear the title “Vampire Weekend” is this:

Vampire Weekend makes me think they’re going to do a riff on Twilight but with gay vampires rather than straight ones, and tying into Thasmin. Don’t know why but I guess the title just makes me think of Twilight more than more horrific vampire stories for some reason.

I like the idea of a reoccurring villain. Suggests these audios will be more experimental. I wonder if the Tourist is a Time Lord or a different species?

Praying The Tourist is a renegade time lord!

Certainly sounds like a Time Lord name.

I’m calling it now: “The Tourist” is the 14th Doctor travelling incognito around the universe in the wake of the 13th Doctor. And the “villainy” of The Tourist is simply pulling pranks on his previous incarnation.
