Interesting that they’re doing this The last adventure format again. They hadn’t done it elsewhere right? Anyways, 12 parts of Tim Foley, so best story of the year coming up.
Now hang on a minute, BF. Zygons, Krynoids, new stories for the Thirteenth Doctor, Carnacki and now this? I’ve got to eat, you know!
Sounds very promising, to put it mildly.
You can always eat the CDs after listening.
Hah! I remember that feeling. Twas a time I was trying to limit my purchases, but Big Finish just kept coming out with new ranges and/or special releases that I just could not resist. FOMO is a cruel mistress.
Note: not recommended!
Sure they taste great, but later when you want to go back and relisten, you’re bound to regret it.
Plus…the calories.
Well, then you simply buy the digital versions and support BF twice
Joking aside, I’m mildly interested. I usually struggle a bit with the Five audios but this one could be good. Different and epic at least!
For a while now, I’ve been limiting myself to 1 boxset a month to keep my budget under control (carefully scheduled to maximize pre-orders). This announcement means my purchase schedule is full through october of next year, and they haven’t even announced the 3rd, 6th, or 7th Doctor stuff yet. It feels weird hoping that those announcements won’t interest me
12 parts sounds exhausting. But I love the 5th Doctor era & Tim Foley is currently my favourite writer so am intrigued.
Here’s hoping the AUD to GPD exchange rate improves bc atm even with pre-ordering it’ll be 77 dollarydoos
I feel so much more reassured about this hearing who’s writing it! Foley holds the entire top three stories in the range for me! Hoping they do something cool with the covers, where the two work on their own but can combine into one piece.
Not only is Tim Foley a great talent (a fantastic writer for Big Finish and part of their recent purple patch in terms of quality), but he also, crucially, gets the Fifth Doctor era in ways that many writers simply don’t. “Hooklight” sounds intriguing!
Tim Foley’s substack is great.
