It’s really lovely for them to do another 12 Parter, let alone one for the fifth Doctor and written by Tim Foley, nonetheless! Super excited to see how Hooklight will be, even if I doubt I will get around to it very soon
Out now & new trailer !!!
Really excited to start this soon!!
Well, I am finished… Safe to say that this is EPIC in scale on all fronts. I knew something was bound to happen at the end, but I literally raised my arms in shock and got chills I did NOT expect that.
Oh boy, now I kind of want to listen to this even though I didn’t plan to…
I got three parts in and, while a little slow paced, the world building and storyline is just fantastic, really excited to see where it’s headed
Just to warn people, I think BF will probs be doing some news or info for Hooklight 2 which spoils something from Hook light 1 in the coming weeks
I just finished it, and that was incredible. I think I spent the whole of part 6 saying “Wait, what!?” out loud with increasing intensity
Planned to listen to the first two parts today, and was enjoying it so much listened to part 3 as well!
Hopefully I’ll have lost of time on my hands tomorrow (my deadlines are finally over and done with! ) so can listen to the second half!
I’m so excited for episode 6. I wonder what the revelations will be (although based on episode 3 I have a few ideas…)
Going to finish Hooklight 1 today!
Something fun I remembered about the first episode. Adric compares the mysterious castle he finds himself in to the catacombs from Ghost Walk. I don’t think the city Ghost Walk takes place in is ever confirmed in the story itself…? But this one confirms it takes place in York, which funnily enough is exactly where I imagined Ghost Walk to take place!
(Love York too. One of my favourite British cities :D)
Just finished this. It’s an epic, alright, and we’re only halfway through! I’m impressed by how ‘Bidmeadian’ it is - Christopher H. shaped the Fifth Doctor and his team all that time ago, so this could be considered a tribute to his twisting, mind-bending story style. At six episodes, this ‘runaround’ takes a while to build, but build it does. It’s a fantasy, a fable, a dark fairytale that serves its characters very well and becomes ever more delirious. The performances are fantastic; I love Peter Davison’s description of Vanderseer as ‘Mr Kipling in space’. It’s great to hear how invested Peter is in this tale. He seems really taken with it.
The oft-praised twist is indeed a doozy. I’ve a feeling some tweaks might be made to the cover of the second set - or maybe not! I know I’ll be listening to this again. I’m not sure where it’s going - which is absolutely the way it should be - but it’s so good!
The more I read about this, the more intrigued I am about it! I love a mix of sci-fi and fantasy so this should be right down my alley.
Oh you want to listen to more five Audios so bad, ohh you want to listen to everything Tim Foley has written. You will obey me
Tim Foley being the writer for the first 9/Rose audio is a good thing
I thought that too, but I really hope not
For anyone interested:
Just finished episode 6. WOW. WOW WOW WOW !!
Absolutely wonderful twists and turns in that last episode. They felt so much more impactful because of the long runtime– all those teases and hints and then…
I loved the way episode 5 and 6 were told– splicing Nyssa’s timeline in two and letting us see both the past and the present at once. And that tease of (double spoilers) Eight, both before and after the credits! SO exciting and completely unexpected! Just hearing Paul McGann’s voice had me
!!
So looking forward to Hooklight 2!
You know, friends, I think I’m going to spend my hard-earned money and all of my savings on Hooklight 1 and every single audio written by Tim Foley. I don’t know why; it’s just an inkling in the back of my head!
Please, don’t tell my wife!
Okay, your double spoiler just jumped this to the top of my purchase list.
Every is going according to the Plan.. Lovely
