They hop around universes in s4, settle in an alternative for s5, but at the beginning of series 6 they go ‘home’ and get back to their own real universe
Nice, series 5 will get started later.
Finishing up ascension and got caught off guard by twist of the story. Not going to ruin it for anyone that has not listen yet.
I JUST started Gallifrey like two weeks ago, I’m on S3E2 right now and just like
fucking wow
tour de force for Lalla Ward and Louise Jameson AND Mary Tamm
Did not realize Brax was gonna feature so heavily
all the stuff I desire from the Time War that Big Finish did not provide is here

Yeah Gallifrey is just that good, and even when it gets a bit wobbly, it’s always awesome <3
Getting major FOMO from this thread.
If I decided to start listening to Gallifrey, are there any prerequisite stories first?
I’ve seen all Classic but might need a little refresher.
Not really - you could rewatch The Invasion of Time; and you could listen to The Apocalypse Element (which we will in audio club soon anyway) which sort of explains how Romana gets back from E-space but like not really. Basically, all you need to know is that Leela is on Gallifrey because of Andred and Romana is president now basically just because.
And don’t worry about Brax his timeline is way too complicated
I say just jump in. You will be fine.
I mean, I have a million other things on my plate so it won’t be soon. But yeah you are all speaking very highly of it.
I’m going to listen to the Eighth Doctor Time War stuff just because I’m on a mission to listen to all of 8, but then maybe after that I’ll do Gallifrey.
The 8 Time War stories are generally good to really awesome so you should enjoy them!
But yeah Gallifrey really is brilliant, and there are certainly other stories in the BF catalogue that add to it, but you don’t actually need any of them to understand what’s going on
Neverland is sort of a prereq, mainly explaining why a character isn’t in Gallifrey and it also comes into play somewhat in the resolution of Series 1, and Zagreus is vaguely mentioned at one point because the Doctor is gone. Otherwise, I think you’ll be fine. I would say you’d probably be fine.
I can’t wait to get to Neverland in audio club, I have SO many opinions about SPOILER CHARACTER in that story.
Gallifrey was the first audio series I listened to and I was fine without any extra context. I’m actually starting Neverland right now.
Siding with @LizShawappreciation, I went into Gallifrey completely blind and fell in love on the dot
I think Narvin has one of the best character arcs across the course of the series through the original, Time War and War Room.
Narvin is the ultimate Wife-Guy except the Wife is the High Presidency of Gallifrey
I need them to make a hundred Narvin spinoff boxsets and I need them now! I need him to become the next River - that is to say, I need them to pointlessly shoehorn him into every story for no reason except tricking people into buying more stories. It would work on me anyway
I genuinely feel like they don’t utilize Narvin enough despite how loved he is. Maybe it’s down to Séan Carlson’s schedule?
I’ve heard Narvin in some Dark Eyes but he mustn’t have made much of an impression on me there because I can’t remember anything about him, seemed kinda generic Time Lord?
The sacrilege!!!
