I’m seeing articles that a T-shirt might be revealing next season’s main villain (Doctor Who: New T-Shirt Might Be Dropping Clue to Season 2 Villain). According to the article, fans are speculating that because the Black Guardian is appearing on a T-shirt with a new title, the guardians are going to return next season. Are Doctor Who fans really so desperate for clues that they’re going to read way too much into a T-shirt?

Isn’t reading too much into things and making up wild fantasies part of being a DW fan :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Fair enough. And I suppose we are in a weird era of fandom where a T-shirt can qualify as part of a multimedia event.

Ok listen, I might have an explanation as to why she isn’t a companion, that you could agree on.

She is way to independent for that.
In my mind a companion is someone who the Doctor takes with them to show them the universe. Someone who couldn’t travel through time and space on their own.
River can and does do that!

So… Romana isn’t a companion?

I, I’m going to come back to you on this one…

The Doctor could be Romanas companion! Does that work? I don’t know😂

Should this be it’s own thread…?

I don’t know if we are done or not😅 And to be fair I was the one to bring the topic back.

I was just browsing Amazon and saw these.

Hang on, didn’t people say Disney was against physical copies of media, and were worried about Doctor Who not getting them? They are making Blu-Rays of their Disney+ series!

Mandalorian and Andor blu rays actually have been a thing.
Ahsoka is new though.
Oh and this is Mando season 3. This is nice!
The bigger problem I think are Prime Video and Netflix.

On the other hand, why would they print a T-shirt with a 70s villain who hasn’t shown up on TV since and with a new name if it didn’t mean something? Sounds a bit weird to me. Why not call him the Black Guardian or print a T-shirt with some other, more relevant baddie (Sutekh, for instance?)?

Fair enough.

I really hate how most Doctor Who headlines these days are just clickbait.

Susan’s Dead? Massive Doctor Who reveal is an injustice to 1963’s original conpanion

They built a whole article on a line 15 said in Devil’s Chord. The author even states that Susan is probably not dead.

And I hate these types of articles the most:

Doctor Who legends return as four new spinoffs confirmed

You get loads like these, and they make you think a new spin-off has been announced, but no, they just talk about a Big Finish box set.

There’s an image of John Barrowman, Jonathan Groff and an almost unrecognisable Eve Myles doing the rounds which claims Disney+ is bringing us a new series of Torchwood next year with Jack, Rogue and Gwen as leads…

It’s fairly obviously not real (the photoshopping is bad and it’s an old promotional image of Jack) but I’ve seen it in 2 or 3 different places now.

3 fun little details on this one (which is devoid of classic series references otherwise:

I love how they’re references to other series referenced in Classic anyway

I spend so much time reading on the forum that I decided regular screen aren’t gonna cut it anymore. So I got a web browser on my E-reader and after a few tweeks, both the main site and the forum looks great on E-ink!

Update: Forgot to take a picture yesterday

I’m thinking about getting a customised T-shirt with this quote on it… Would it be a good idea?

This shirt indicates that the wearer is the sort of person who wears T-shirts with witty and self-referential slogans on them

Apparently Sam has a hand-made one in Seeing I (mentioned in the middle of Chapter Eight, if you want to look it up)
