To be honest, they would be incredibly dull anyway.

It would just be me discussing the one franchise that I think can hold a candle to Doctor Who in terms of how much I adore it.

Command & Conquer

I have so much nostalgia for this game franchise - evidence by the fact I reference it in 7/10 reviews I write.

Been rewatching the trailer for the cancelled Command & Conquer: Generals 2 that was meant to drop in 2013.

God, it probably would’ve saved the franchise too had it been released - the previous title was… an absolute hot mess.

Ignore that last message. I’ve got multiple TardisGuide tabs open and put it in the wrong thread.

I used to love Command & Conquer too! I have great memories from playing Red Alert over and over in my youth…

Ah, but give it some more time (no more than 500 years tops) and you will evolve and probably have something to say at that point  (you’ll at the very least be a bit shiny)

It was announced ages ago. Hello to you under the stone!

They are really good! Part 2 is my number two movie of this year so far. Just go into Part 1 knowing that it’s only half the story and it ends pretty abruptly. Denis Villeneuve is a visionary filmmaker and has done the “unfilmable” book justice.

When in doubt, you can always talk Scandinavia! You’ll make @Tian, @BillFiler and myself excited and drive @deltaandthebannermen nuts!

Yeah I can see that :joy:
I am usually pretty up to date with the Duniverse(?) but somehow this passed me totally by. A pleasant surprise though, love the Bene Gesserit! And not much of a wait
I pretty much read Dune annually, it is so good!
I was in a second hand book shop when I was about 15 and picked up “Heretics of Dune” for 5 Danish Kroner because the cover intrigued me - starting with book five out of six is not advised though  So I bought the David Lynch movie and was totally hooked

I am looking forward to seeing the two Dune movies now though, even if the trailer for the first one still doesn’t really “speak to me” :slightly_smiling_face:

I had 0 idea this was going to be a thing, absolutely watching when it drops

Also the recent movies are definitely worth watching (though admittedly I say that as someone who’s not seen any other adaptation or read the books so pinch of salt and all that)

Also, which one is #1? :slightly_smiling_face:

The book is great. I’ve read it twice, but I’ve still to read the other books. The Lynch film is definitely a thing that exists and I’m not a fan - my strongest memory of it is Sting acting crazy in his winged underwear

So far, it’s Civil War. I don’t know why it resonates so strongly with me, but it’s definitely a strong experience!

I was about to go all moderator on the link and then realised it’s an official BBC stream (although it was listed as 4 hours and seems to have ended after 1).

It’s kind of funny how, if I’m taking screenshots of an episode, any picture with Colin Baker in it is immediately a good one (unless motion blur makes it so you can’t get a good shot, anyways)…

Spent a lot of time recently rewatching old episodes of EastEnders from 2008 onwards.

And I finally reached the year I was absolutely dreading, because the producers made the worst decision imaginable on New Year’s Day 2017.

They killed off the Mitchell Sisters.

Currently up to mid-March that year, and the storylines are better than I remember them being at the time - though shipping Lee Carter out of the Square couldn’t have happened sooner. I remember this being the point the entire Carter family started getting aggravating to me.

Considering EastEnders have been known to pull Lazarus plays on several occasions - like bringing Cindy Beale back from the dead after twenty-something years - I really hope they do with same with Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell.

I don’t care how rididculous the storyline is.

Just bring them both back.

Especially Ronnie.

Failing that, BigFinish, kindly give Samantha Womack a call and ask if she wants to become a new companion to the Seventh Doctor or something.

There’s a Time Lord called Rasmus!?! :exploding_head:
How did I not know of this???

That’s uhm, the name I go by when I am not on official international UNIT business fighting off Axons and the like :sunglasses:

Well, well, well I know which audio rabbit hole I am going down for the foreseeable :grin::grin:

Where to start?

He’s in War Room, so extra motivation to keep listening to Gallifrey :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: he’s one of the good ones!

Gonna start updating some more of my reviews that I uploaded to the other site - love how I can say that and everyone knows which cesspit I’m referring to.

Feel like @shauny will approve of these reviews, given his previously expressed adoration for River.

Rasmus is also in Susan’s War! I remember reacting to it because I know several people named Rasmus, and it’s a fairly common name over here, so I thought it was fun to hear in a DW context!

Maybe he’s the first Scandinavian Time Lord? With fair, blond hair, a Viking beard and a love for alcohol!
