Actually I’ll tell you the thing that really didn’t work for me - the plot itself was fine. But watching it unfold, especially in the middle, it felt bloated and plodding. The start was strong and tense but it just kind of stayed at ‘dramatic high tension’ while all the characters stood there being cross. Maybe it was the direction, maybe it was the wordiness - I don’t know. But for an episode that should have taken my breath away, I was just waiting for the next thing to happen
I was even more excited at the last scene for some reason
Yeah I do wish we had more of Kate especially when Conrad exposed himself like I wish she’d given a speech or something there.
The UNIT ones are really good I like the team, I need a relisten honestly (still not finished the last 3 series)
Ahem…
PHRASING
More Kate yes - the last thing this episode needed was more speeches though
I can’t explain why exactly but I didn’t like the scene where Ibrahim told her it was too far The “he’ll live” response though
Wait, did I miss something?!
I wish….
I really liked Kate being badass but I rolled my eyes a bit when what really pissed her off was her father being badmouthed.
We get it, the Brig was your favourite character from Classic, but please let Kate be her own character.
100% I’m sick of them mentioning him everytime she’s there. Plus the addition of Lethbridge into her name. I am excited for more of her on the spin off I just hope it’s as good as her first one.
I tend to associate the Brig with his actions at the end of The Silurians, and even I got pissed when he said that. I get that for her.
I don’t think it was what really pissed her off? I may have missed a bit or something. But agreed it’s annoying that every episode Kate is on screen the Brigadier has to be mentioned.
I need to rewatch but she seemed to get extra pissed at that point, and said he was 100 times the man Conrad is.
At first when he seemed like a decent guy I kinda thought he looked like Paul McGann , now I’m taking it back , I’m sorry Paul
Honestly, I was kind of with her on this - even hearing the Brig being mentioned by a character like Conrad feels wrong, and for him to then say what he said, on top of everything else, I don’t blame her for unleashing the monster thingie on him
So, first of all, Doctor Who has always had morals since the very beginning.
And Heaven Sent and The Well have messages too
Wow that was dumb.
Our old friend McTighe is back with more political commentary that is surprisingly not a completely mishandled and incompetent message. Shame the script is unfinished.
There are so many plot holes here it is insane. It had some fun ideas and it’s better than Kerblam! but that’s not saying much.

It was almost surprising, since those online circles tend to mythologise masculine archetypes like The Brig (‘talking is boring, just blow them up’). But yeah, he whizzed right on the electric fence with that remark.
I genuinely hoped she was gonna taser him next lol
