I agree. So much of the negativity reeks of insincerity. Trolling to rile people and create discord. Itâs the modern playbook.

Not sure if anyoneâs mentioned this, but when the Doctor meets young Conrad back in 2007, at that point heâd already had that confrontation with adult Conrad in the Tardis. I wonder if he put together that it was partially due to him that Conrad went on his dark path, as in the scene it didnât look like any bells rung.

Not my fav episode as it was very Belinda and Doctor lite.
Gave it 3 stars, as itâs middle of the road for me.

I think if I had to take a major mark against it, Iâd like a Kate episode where her father isnât mentioned. Thereâs this tendency to always bring up the Brigadier in some way, making it harder for Kate to stand on her own. Although, it was interesting seeing what happens when someone speaks ill of him in her presence. I think Conrad touched a nerve, and thatâs part of why she arguably went a step overboard.

I did feel like they made this episode less about Ruby more about Unit - it wasnât a bad episode.
Also slight nit pick at all the people Kate hires - only a few appear at a time.

If I had one complaint about the episode, it would be agreeing that yeah, the Brig didnât need to be mentioned again, but also it feels completely in character for Conrad to do so in that way
Also I kind of wish the companion support group from PotD showed up again at the end (or at least got nodded towards), but also I loved the line about Ruby collecting mums

Because that is a really good idea, she should definitely seek them out.
However when I read your comment I thought you meant the support group should show up with makeshift weapons and kick Conradâs ass

To be fair, UNIT is a world-wide organisation, in this episode they mention that Melâs off doing setup for The War Between in another country.
As for the other people weâve seen working at UNIT, I reckon thereâs good enough reasons theyâre not here:
- Donna - Gets a bunch of time off
- Rose - Most of this takes place at night, between UNIT and School, she probably needs the sleep (Plus I get the vibe that when 15âs not around, sheâs not usually on the main floor)
- Morris - I kind of assume that given him and Shirley have the same role within UNIT, they only need one person in that position on the âmain floorâ at a time, heâs probably just downstairs
- Susan - Also doesnât feel like sheâd be given a âmain floorâ job, plus sheâs splitting time between UNIT and Triad anyway

Not sure how I feel about this one yet, gonna have to rewatch it with my parents tonight to form a solid opinion. (Also for some reason I was having audio issues? Most of Rubyâs lines sounded super canny.)
The âTV Showâ theorists are gonna have a field day with Conrad directly calling the monsters costumes and special effects
