I feelt like Missy carried this whole comic. I have not read her comic yet but I got excited to read it. The choice to have two stories set in Stormcage within a couple of hours is such a strange one.
Cutscenes from the terrible Lost in Time wait or pay game… And it was a genuinely good part of Doom’s Day? How does that work?
K-9 and Kamelion (disguised as the Thirteenth Doctor)hiring an assassin to defend their colony of robots and androids from space pirates! Can we stay on that colony instead of following Doom around?
I’m halfway through the novel Extraction Point and it’s okay. It’s a quick read but not super exciting.
Hour 11 - Doom goes skiing Now isn’t that nice?
The Kraals are back with their androids and this time they have simulated a whole planet. And the Ninth Doctor makes a cameo appearance at the end.
Hour 12 - Spooooky Ghost (Not really)
So apparently Doom wanted to be a singer but failed. Is this the first actual personal thing that we know about her? Halfway through this Day of Doom?
So we had The Android Invasion and now we have The Long Game?
Finished off Extraction Point
It was nice that the four hours/missions inside were connected, but the overall plot of Doom’s Day seem to move very little.
Hour 13 was again a decent enough part, and very nice that we got some more Ninth Doctor action alongside Doom. And I’m shocked that the Slitheen turned up towards the end of this! Well, not really they were on the cover …
Hour 14 was a good wrap-up of the four hours of this book. And the Second Doctor is always delightful I hope that the upcoming stories will build on some of the things that have happened so far. But Slitheen once again destroying a planet to mine stuff? Wish they had gone for something more original. Now who are the Slitheens’ bosses that want to enhance the armour to their casings? Hmm…
Started the Four From Doom’s Day audios from the BBC.
Just listened to The Steel Cascade.
Barbara and Ian on a cruise in the Mediterranean in 1966 with spies, alien technology and strawberry Daiquiris? What’s not to like?
Feel like I am getting to actually know who Doom is now. Probably would have been a good idea to place some of the audios at the beginning of the event, switch this audio set with the Titan Comics one for instance, hearing Doom’s voice definitely helps me make the story feel more “real”.
Right?
Barbara and Ian in their swimwear, lounging on deckchairs on a cruise in the Mediterranean, drinking Strawberry Daiquiris. Barbara poking holes in history books that got it wrong and Ian making fun of ridiculous science fiction time travel books.
That is probably my favourite sequence of the whole event so far
And Barbara was on to Doom right from the start. That was a fun one
The Martian Dilemma. Finished it 10 minutes ago and had to go check on the name just now because I forgot… Says it all really.
Nothing happened in relation to the overall “Doom’s Day” and what did happen was dull.
But then again, with the exception of The Curse of Peladon I do tend to get a bit bored by Ice Warriors very quickly.
