DALEKS! The animated series

I loved this animated series so much. It made me wish we could get a proper live-action Dalek spin-off.

So did anyone actually enjoy these?

I remember seeing them advertised and thinking they looked utterly generic.

I would say I can remember watching them, but I decided to do so whilst black-out drunk because I thought it would be the only way I could get through them…

Actually, sums up how I approached most of the TLV stories!

They were fine for what they were. Nothing spectacular.

The animation was pretty bad. I did like some of the stuff with the Mechinoids in 3-5…

They were a perfectly fine way to kill just over an hour imo

27 people have done the pilgrimage on here so far, worth it for the badge

I enjoyed K9 more. I was not a fan of this. I had a hard time getting over the bad animation.

I dont think you guys get something…:thinking:
Sometimes something can be so bad it’s good. You get to laugh at the screen with the silly dialogue, cheesy special effects, maybe make up your own dialogue. Like the Movie Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Cheesy… crappy, and a lot of fun… while drinking.
Besides, Badges are cool.

I am gonna work on mine now :joy:

OMG…. It must be my ADHD. But the first episode is a lot of fun… in a couple of parts…
l tried placing a spoiler in here. I havent mastered it yet.

But embrace the bad and make it good. I think 15 said something like that.:wink:

I actually enjoyed it. I’m a sucker for anything neon and remotely cyberpunk though

One feeling that stuck with me about Daleks! is that it would have made for a good audio…

A multiplatform event surrounding the Daleks would have worked better as a follow-up to Time Lord Victorious than Doom’s Day too.

Part One was fun, and even if the animation wasn’t the best, the designs are really beautiful!

The designs and characters are a big part of what keeps you watching, that and the fact it’s only like half an hour long

Oh lord…
I’ll watch it when I get a spare hour. After their hundreds of thousands of appearances, I somehow still like the daleks and think there’s interesting things to do with them. But I really struggle with anything animated  :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Funny, I’m just the opposite. I’m fine with animation, but after their hundreds of thousands of appearances, I think the Daleks have run out of interesting uses. (actually, I think many of their appearances in recent years have really stretched credulity)

I had tried to watch a bit of this offering before, but didn’t really get interested. But I’m working my way through the various webcasts, so I’m going to watch it for real soon.

It’ll be interesting to see if I can overcome my Dalek fatigue and you can overcome your animation aversion… :slightly_smiling_face:

I remember 3-5 were more interesting to me than 1 and 2 were…

I found this to be much more interesting to watch when I saw it in the context of TLV.

I agree with Tian! It still wasn’t good, but it was more interesting.

I’ve just watched the whole thing this morning, and I’m inclined to agree. If only because they were actually connected to one another.

I was thinking about myself. I didn’t do the whole TLV thing (read the novels, but that was it). After episode 1 had no context and did not connect to episode 2, and after episode 2 had no context and did not connect to episode 3, I really wondered if maybe they were connected to the other media and would have resonated better if I had seen whatever other material had referenced the Archive or the Sentinel or whatever.

I thought the animation looked cool, though.
